Out of all the players that signed a deal in the off-season in his contract tier (Powell, THj, Fournier, Duncan Robinson, Trent Jr., and Dinwiddie all got between 17.25-18.75 a year) he's played the best thus far. The interesting part is that it's a 5 year deal, which is the longest of the group. Duncan Robinson also got a 5 year deal. The Bogdanovic's, Joe Harris, and Eric Gordon fit in that volume shooter, scorer role to in the same salary slot.
It's been talked about a ton whether these are good contracts or not, but it's yet to be seen if these contracts can actually be moved. I'm gonna guess they are since 1/3rd of the league has been willing to pay that much for that quality of player. I would imagine the other 2/3rd either havent had the cap space, or are not in the right building window to offer those players a contract.
I think Minnesota would be a sneaky team for him, he's slightly redundant with Beasley on the roster, and I don't know how they feel about Nowell, but most teams should value a guy that can shoot efficiently from deep and the fact that he's played on good defensive teams and not been a negative is a plus too. Prince or Beasley straight up would work. They'd either get off the deal completely by taking Princes expiring, or they could get a similar yet younger player in Beasley (who's just 25).
Go Knicks!
