Playmaking? Sure.

Passing? Jokic is on a different stratosphere

I'm a hard Jokic stan but Denver just haven't been good enough.

It's not even about win/loss ratios, the numbers do matter but shouldn't be everything, it's that Denver feel beatable by anyone.

They have had a hard schedule but their record is as much down to blowing it against absolute garbage teams as it has just constantly facing good ones. also, the team is threadbare but the covid situation has meant that this is an under-strength year. sixers don't have simmons, the nets didn't have kyrie, Davis has been out, Kawhi and George have been out.

Jokic has been great, great enough that if Denver turn it around in the latter half and end up with a better record he looks as good a shot as anyone, but your team needs to be at least good if it's not a contender and this year he's barely made them average.

Giannis for me right now.

If Denver can climb just a little bit, I will consider Jokic a lot more.

Right now I'd vote for Giannis, in what is kind of a weird year with a lot of candidates on teams riddled with issues.

This thing is far from over though. Any of Giannis, Jokic, Durant and even Curry still have a lot of room left to take the lead. And don't let me forget about Embiid.

Lakers suck and LeBron is blatantly stat padding trying to catch the cumulative awards. I wouldn't even consider LeBron and its hilarious to me that his name even came up at all, very predictable stuff. LeBron has a literal army of writers and talking heads that refuse to prioritize anything else. This same group said Jokic "can't win" because of team record. If the Lakers make a dramatic turn around I'll eat my words, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. They really are very fortunate to even be a.500 team.

My ballot right now is:
1. Giannis
2. KD
3. Steph
4. Jokic
5. Rudy Gobert (controversial i know)

I feel bad for Jokic, if his team was healthy he would be challenging for #1. His plus minus is insane and is almost singlehandedly carrying that team.

I forgot about Demar. It feels weird to have him in the discussion, as he's not a typical MVP level player, but he deserves consideration.

Ja as well. I actually liked him in the preseason to make some noise in the MVP race, happy to see it manifest.

Could this be Ja's Derrick Rose year? Grizzlies are only a few games out of first.

Ill tell you. When you're down 20-30 points and your team has no chance of winning the game, and you're out there shot jacking trying to make sure you get yours. On top of that, when you know you need to average a certain number of points to catch the alltime records.

Don't get me wrong, LeBron has to score for the Lakers to win. I honestly just like poking fun of the LeBron media and idolators. You all come running in all directions to defend him, like frontline soliders on a battlefield.

how many games has that happened? i dont remember any game right now where lakers were down 30 in the quarter and lebron stayed in the court

if anythingh lakers are having close games nearly every game, which is usual for middling teams that are not too good to blowout rivals or too bad to be blown out often

in regards to your last point, dont you think is a bit odd to call defending a player as a fanboy action? after all as Long as is done respectfully "defending" or "attacking" a player is what we do everyday here after all

if disagrweing with a criticism makes you a fanboy, everybody in real gm would be guilty, probably you and me included

3. KD
4. Embiid
5. Curry
6. DeMar
7. Ja

That’s the list right now. The top-2 are a step above the others imo.

Demar making 1st Team All-NBA would be insane. Really happy for him and the Bulls.

Lol, wrong again.

https://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/31038407/joel-embiid-overtakes-lebron-james-favorite-win-mvp

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid overtook Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James last week and is now the consensus favorite to win the regular-season MVP award at sportsbooks around the nation. Embiid is listed at +200 to win MVP at Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill, followed by James at +225.

This was just not Ceaser's he was the betting favorite across all major betting sites heading into all-star break.

Yes, he did slow down after coming back from injury, but at that point the damage was done, and yes, Jokic did regain the lead. But that's not what I said was it, I said at the All-star break he was the favorite. If he hadn't missed time, he probably wouldn't have lost his rhythm, and would have had enough of a cushion to have a few bad games, which he might not have.

I wouldn't say running away with it. Bucks record isn't that impressive yet. They are a top 3 team, and can easily slip. One month left before the end of the season is when we will see the MVP case really solidify.
