I think OG for sure isn't happening. But that's how negotiating works. Ask for the moon and then go down from there. I think we may need to do multiple firsts since we're not gonna be able to offer much otherwise unless they really value a guy like Flynn or our other fodder assets. Ultimately, I'd be fine with dealing the firsts. You can always buy back in if there's a guy you really want in the draft.

But others have made a good point that there are other options out there in the market and it's not a desperate situation.

Without Scottie its a tough trade to make but with Scottie I'd do OG for Turner. Major position of need for a position that SIakam, Scottie, Boucher all cover if OG is to go. We need a big guy for any Embiid's of the league and it should beef up our boards a bit too, while stretching the floor is always great too.

I think as a big who doesn't eat up space in the paint on offense he allows our guys to ISO and create.

As a good option on any pick and pop he has the jumper to make teams pay for loading up on the driver.

Finally, if people load up on FVV up top on the perimeter he can sit in the highpost and be an outlet. Not sure how great a playmaker he would be but he is an upgrade over push shot Birch and clank bro Achuiwa. Even if you want Scottie in that role you can easily move Turner to the corners.

I think OG is logical to be dealt since Scottie could step into that role. Turner provides options.

Uhhh what ?? Did U forget the green font ?
OG isn’t being traded… he especially isn’t being traded for Miles Turner .. yikes

Dalek is fixated on trading OG. But OG is a WAY better player than Turner. Pacers would be over the moon if we made them such an offer. Which ... we most definitely will not.

Here's my offer: Dragic, Boucher and Flynn and a protected 2022 first for Turner and Lamb. The salaries line up perfectly. So perfectly, that it seems destined to be.

[edit] Actually, that's not gonna work. To stay under the tax, Raptors can't send out more players in a salary-equal trade than we take back, because we'd have to replace them for the minimum, which would take us over the tax.

What's Indiana's benefit for getting Dragic, Boucher and Flynn besides the first round pick. I like the trade too, even with us going into the tax, but why for Indiana?

If I were them I might want a second rounder or a fringe prospect as well which I wouldn’t be mad at.

Maybe Boucher + Flynn + protected 1st?

This already sounds very different.

So the Raptors asked the Pacers what they want for Turner and they said Anunoby, so that's not happening and now they either end talks or they lower their asking price to a first round pick.

Yup. This leak was to get other teams to think this is the price. Or at least close to this price.

OG for Turner is a brutal trade for the Raptors.

Teams are using the Raptors as leverage since they're known as a great organization that targets players well.

This is a laugh and hang up the phone type of proposal.

I really don’t see OG, Pascal & Barnes working together long term. Barnes is untouchable and Pascal has lower trade value due to his contract

If management thinks this would be a good time to sell high on OG for whatever reason then a franchise center plus some really nice sweeteners isn’t the worst place to start

Why don’t you think they can work together?

Even the biggest "slam dunk" ever didn't happen. I remember when Dragic was going straight to Dallas lol.

It's far more likely that we threw our hat into the ring to drive the price up and we'll trade for some random dude no one is paying attention to.

And more trade deadline rumours. Poetl would be an upgrade. 1 more year at $9.4M.

Don't forget the Indy media would land on OG themselves with him being and Indiana U. alum.

I agree but to be fair it doesn't say what else might be in the trade. At minimum Turner plus Indy's 1st for OG though I probably still say no. But if we got Duarte too, I'd probably have to do it. but yes, Turner for OG straight up is garbage.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

2018-19 Toronto Raptors NBA $21,666,667
2019-20 Toronto Raptors NBA $23,271,604

And paid Marc a few bucks:
2018-19 Toronto Raptors NBA $24,119,025
2019-20 Toronto Raptors NBA $25,595,700

We do pay guys when it matters. :D We've managed the budget last year and this year to get out of the repeat payer bracket which leaves us room to grow into a championship quality team.

Ibaka was a 3-time all-defensive player, and DPOY runner-up. Marc was a former DPOY with multiple other accolades. Turner is a good shot blocker.

Hmm...OK. :D I think Turner is OK for the price unless you're planning to spend heavily.

So testing your logic, we should be looking at the following guys:
https://www.nba.com/news/history-all-defensive-team
• Rudy Gobert, Utah Jazz
• Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers
• Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors
• Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks
• Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
• Bam Adebayo, Miami Heat
• Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat
• Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers
• Matisse Thybulle, Philadelphia 76ers
• Kawhi Leonard, LA Clippers

Gonna cost more than Ibaka, Gasol or Turner. Thybulle would be cheapest in the All-NBA defensive list. Got any better ideas?

I see where you're going but my only point was that we paid those guys because they deserved it, they had true cred coming in. Turner is potentially going to cost us just as much or more but with much less to show for it, and Indy wants all-star type exchange for him. If we were one piece from being a true contender, I'd say do what we need to do to try to get an established star because you know what you're getting and are willing to pay for it (like we did with Marc). Right now, I'd rather get a guy who has potential but is still cheap, either by drafting him or buying low. Bagley might be that kind of guy - lots of potential being wasted in SAC (although his wingspan isn't anything to write home about, only 7'1" for a 6'11" player), and still on a cheap contract. I was hoping that Dewan Hernandez was going to be one of those draft steals a couple of years ago but he never panned out. Anyway, I just don't see us as being in a rush to grab an overpriced player right now just because he's there.

I don't think I want to trade OG, and I consider him a very valuable player but no player is untouchable. I compare OG most with Jaylen Brown because of the frame and potential skill set, and while Jaylen is about the same age, he has had 3 seasons of of 20+ PPG on good efficiency. He would be a guy I consider untouchable because you don't see a ceiling to his game quite yet.

OG's production had bumped up this year, but his efficiency is way down .553 TS%; 44 FG%; 36 3P%, and he is not even a primary option meaning he doesn't get the same level of attention as Siakam or FVV. He might have potential and is just a late bloomer, but I think we might over value him a bit.

Turner is similarly puzzling as he can have nights where he scores 40 points and/or block 10 shots, and others where he is not as impactful.

I just think the whole Pascal/OG/Scottie dynamic is not going to work long-term. Somebody has to sacrifice their game and it's likely Scottie. They already had him wrestling Cs, and playing in the post and he has worn down. Same thing happened to Pascal last year when he played more in the post.

Although I'm pretty sure Bobby (and Masai) would say no to a OG trade, it still deserves some consideration. I'd have to think about a trade centred around OG+Dragic for Turner+Levert.

It strengthens both our front and back courts and allows Barnes to settle in as a fulltime big wing instead of having to share space with OG and Pascal.

Now, I'm not one to advocate kowtowing even if its for Scottie Barnes but, this is a move that this team can afford to make just based on what I've seen of Scottie so far.

I feel like Scottie is just as versatile a defender but has a much higher offensive ceiling.

I just think a trade like this shouldn't be discounted too easily.

I find it funny the Pacers drafted TJ Leaf ahead of OG, who played college in Indiana no less.
