CHA - IND - SAC

Post#1 » by bpcox05 » Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:40 pm

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CHA Gets: Richaun Holmes
CHA Gives: PJ Washington & Ish Smith
Why for CHA? The Hornets get a big upgrade to their C spot on a very team friendly deal. Gives them a solid starting lineup of Ball-Rozier-Hayward-Bridges-Holmes.

PG - Ball / Bouknight
SG - Rozier / Martin
SF - Hayward / Oubre
PF - Bridges / McDaniels / Thor
C - Holmes / Plumlee / Jones / Carey / Richards

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IND Gets: De'Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley, & Robert Woodard
IND Gives: Myles Turner, TJ Warren, & Chris Duarte
Why for IND? The Pacers land a star/fringe star, 24 year old PG who will have 4 years left on his contract (no options) to pair with Brogdon, Sabonis, & a high 2022 draft pick long term.

PG - Fox / McConnell / Sykes
SG - Brogdon / Lamb
SF - Holiday / LeVert / Woodard
PF - Bagley / Craig / Brissett
C - Sabonis / Bitadze / Jackson

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SAC Gets: Myles Turner, TJ Warren, PJ Washington, Ish Smith, & Chris Duarte
SAC Gives: De'Aaron Fox, Marvin Bagley, Richaun Holmes, & Robert Woodard
Why for SAC? The Kings have basically been in the bottom third of the league for Def Rtg for the past 16 seasons (their current playoff drought). They decide to lean in hard on improving the defense and exchange Fox for one of the best defensive Cs in the league (who is only 25 and can grow with the core). Mitchell, Haliburton, Hield, & Davis can help mitigate the loss of Fox. Washington & Duarte give them a couple more young 3&D wings to help round out the core and Warren could be a solid SF/PF if his injury doesn't impact him all that much.

PG - Mitchell / Smith
SG - Haliburton / Davis / Ramsey
SF - Barnes / Duarte / Harkless
PF - Washington / Warren / Metu
C - Turner / Jones / Len / Thompson

I find it to be pretty fair overall. I think some might find Fox and Brogdon to be duplicative but I think they could play together.

I think pick assets could fix whatever tiny imbalances exist. Feel like Charlotte is getting more value than giving here. Sac's situation seems fair. Indiana on paper is giving up a lot, but Warren hasn't really played in a while. If he returns healthy and regains form they'll be missing him a lot. Not to mention he'd fit great with Fox.

I think just remove Bagley and route Washington to Indiana.

I don't think Duarte is going anywhere. I also think there's still interest in Indiana to see what a healthy Warren might bring to the team, despite the risk of losing him in free agency. I think Turner, Levert, and Lamb are the likely ones to be moved. I think they've made the decision to keep Sabonis other than if they get an offer it would be ridiculous to refuse (and I personally don't think headcase Simmons is such an offer, even if that were to to be considered by either team.)

If that’s the cost for Fox, Indy will just look elsewhere for a smaller Turner deal. Warren and Duarte won’t be used in a deal like this.

I think this trade has the right outline but including Duarte, and to a lesser extent, Warren makes this a non-starter for Indy. I also like the idea of Washington to Indy instead of Bagley.

I'm okay with it. It's painful but Holmes brings 100% every night. I'd take Holmes + Bouknight over Turner any day and I don't think we get Turner if PJ is the main piece as he is here.

I would do something like

Cha In: Holmes
Cha Out: Washington, Smith

Ind In: Fox, Washington, Ramsey
Ind Out: Turner, Lamb, Holiday

Sac In: Turner, Lamb, Holiday, Smith
Sac Out: Fox, Holmes, Ramsey

Why would sac touch this? Turner is a nice piece, but he's not Fox better than Holmes tbh.

And if that's fox worth, I'm keeping him everyday of thw week.

Would IND/SAC agree to a condensed version and substitute Haliburton for Fox? Haliburton works with Brogdon because neither is ball dominant. Fox works with Turner for spacing with Mitchell off the bench for defense with Turner.

Pacers get Haliburton and Washington
Kings get Turner
Hornets get Holmes

Don't see how it would work as far as matching salaries and I'm sure Sacramento would never do it.

It works with filler. We've tried Haliburton and Fox but what about Davion Mitchell?

Hornets trade Washington and Ish Smith (non-guaranteed) for Holmes

Pacers trade Turner for Mitchell, Washington and Harkless

Kings trade Holmes, Mitchell, Harkless for Turner

Another Turner trade I could support is:

Hornets trade Washington + Ish for Zubac
Pacers trade Turner for Mann + Washington + Reggie Jackson
Clippers trade Mann + Zubac + Jackson for Turner + Ish

I know speculation is Clippers will sell anyone but their superstars (and Mann) and punt because Kawhi and George are injured, but they would have a killer D next year with Bledsoe - George - Kawhi - Morris - Turner with Kennard as a 6th man.

With their luxury tax bill I don't expect them to roll over.

Pacers would have Jackson - Brogdon - Mann - Washington - Sabonis with Duarte as a 6th man.

Your right we need to substitute Lamb and Holiday for LeVert.

LeVert is basically a more injury prone version of Fox. Both score in bunches on inefficient shooting. Neither plays much defense. Fox gets a little more assists except when LeVert plays PG then he racks up assists at a much higher rate than Fox. Other than LeVert being injury prone, taller and more versatile they're the same player.

Great. Indy should keep him

He's saying there's very little sense in having both LeVert and Fox on the same team

I think you're confused. He wasn't comparing their trade value

It would make more sense than taking on Fox for the same thing they already have in LeVert when he's healthy like now.
