At some point we gonna have to make decision on our catchers, I suspect we may move off Kirk. While better hitting profile than Jansen, think Kirk has alot to do on the other side of the ball, defensively, calling games....

Wild that Jansen came into the minor as hitting prospect, that was weak defensively...

MLB trade scenarios: Jim Bowden evaluates your proposals for Matt Olson, Bryan Reynolds, Luis Castillo and more - The Athletic

Blue Jays trade C Alejandro Kirk, OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and SS/3B Jordan Groshans to A’s for LHP Sean Manaea — Jack H.

The A’s don’t need Kirk with Sean Murphy behind the plate, but your offer is too lopsided in favor of Oakland anyway. Therefore, how about an offer of Gurriel and Groshans for Manaea? If I’m Oakland, I make that trade, but if I’m Toronto, I’m not trading Groshans in a Manaea deal. I think Groshans will be an above-average big-league hitter with above-average power.

When do all the experts (including you) think Groshans arrival will be? 2023?

I think that Jordan Groshans arrival will most likely be in 2023.

Liriano would go on to pitch 14 innings of relief for the Astros after the Jays traded him for Teoscar and Nori Aoki. Not a bad return for the good guys. Probably also a warning about trading prospects that almost never turn out..but sometimes do. Perhaps, it would be heathy to remember this at the trade deadline.

Thanks for all your work, Polo.

Don't know, he has sweaty palms, weak knees, and heavy arms. Pukes under pressure. Not a great profile.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

MLB trade scenarios: Jim Bowden evaluates your proposals for Josh Hader, Matt Chapman, Ketel Marte and more - The Athletic

Rockies trade RHP German Márquez and INF Ryan McMahon to Blue Jays for RHP Nate Pearson, SS Jordan Groshans, RHP Adam Kloffenstein and INF/OF Cavan Biggio — Chris W.

Chris, this is a fascinating trade idea and after careful review I’d make it if I’m the Blue Jays. Putting Márquez with Kevin Gausman, José Berríos, Hyun Jin Ryu and Alek Manoah in the rotation would make the Blue Jays my favorites to win the AL East in 2022. McMahon would fill their huge need for a left-handed bat and could be their answer at third base short- and long-term. I also like this deal for the Rockies. Pearson has a chance to dominate at Coors Field by missing bats, and he’s inexpensive compared with Márquez. Groshans and Biggio are everyday players and Kloffenstein profiles as a back-of-the-rotation starter. OK, let me forward this one to the Blue Jays and Rockies to get their opinions …
