Yeah, Holiday via trade and RoLo via buyout feels like destiny. Gotta out brothers Tony Brothers.

Bamba still feels like a pipedream, last thing they need is another guard on the cusp of a payday.

You think Donte is getting paid? lol

Technically, yes. I don't think he's taking the QO, but I guess he might ($6,602,272). Some team will offer partial to full MLE, I'd guess.

Better way of phrasing would be last thing they need is another guard in general, let alone one probably making more than he's worth next season.

Unless he's been dealing with an injury I don't know about, I'd sign Willie Cauley-Stein.

Willie Cauley-Stein got released by the Mavs and I could see a 10 day or 2 way spot to at least take a look. Last night's game against the Raptors where we got dominated on the offensive glass shows we need some more size to throw out there when Brook is out.

Kornet isn't the answer (not good enough), Boogie isn't the answer (fouls per minute champ of the NBA {probably} and constant whiner on court not to mention what allegedly happened with his watch off court), but maybe WCS can efficiently eat some minutes and grab boards. Time to throw s**t at the wall and see what sticks. Go for it Horst!

Where does $6.1M get you though?

It's more like 7.8. Bamba would fit.

But would you offer Bamba the QO? Like I get why we're enamored with Bamba's potential but the contract situation just isn't that good. Him just taking the QO is scary.

Nothing scary about him taking the QO, he's a good player.

However, to defend the teams we'll need to defend in the playoffs, we need an agile forward, not a center who's stuck in the paint, playing the drop while top PGs eat us alive.

Huh? Any player taking the QO is awful. Mo Bamba on a 10m expiring with a no trade clause is a disaster.

Having a good backup center is a disaster? How so?

What allegedly happened with Boogies watch off court? Nvm. I found the thread by searching for it.

Going to be hard to squeeze any value out of our alleged two young trade pieces in DDV and Nwora. Both look awful at the very worst possible time to look awful.

Yea, Donte being 2/16 from deep the last 3 games isn't helping him. He's also made some bone-headed plays. Need to see him settle in a bit more and hopefully that will help his trade value. I'm fully on board with trading him if possible. However, I don't see any return at the moment.

WCS hasn’t been playing this season because of some family problems (I know he has sickle cell so I wouldn’t be surprised if his child has it as well). He has passions outside of basketball so it might be best for him and his family if he explores them. The Mavs have done a really good job of giving him his time away.

I’ll echo the sentiment that RoLo agrees to a buyout and signs with us.

Mo hasn't shown that. It's all about potential and his long term fit here. So yes, utilizing assets to get a player who probably won't outplay his contract this year or next year (if he takes the QO), who's not properly tradeable and then is an UFA afterwards to me is a disaster. If you can sign him to a Grayson Allen deal instead maybe with an additional year or two then I see the appeal.

You're not doing better than this for today's Donte, injuries have cratered his value. We could find a better fit than Mo, but we're not landing a longterm asset or budding star.

Again I'm not advocating for Mo, but paying him the same as Grayson next year doesn't ruin us, it helps us win regular season games.

What do you guys think of DDV for Justin Holiday + TJ McConnell?

DDV out there playing 3D chess. DDV as a part-time starter and a couple huge plays in the finals will command more than being forgotten in PDX. :D

No interest, neither addresses a need.

He's been out for over a month with personal issues. I wouldn't expect him to be available to play anytime soon.
