Close, hard fought loss to an elite Eastern Conference team. Season over.

Masai has just informed me he plans to inflate the value of the core players in this treadmill season and cash in come the off-season. Tank properly for the much stronger draft next year. Excellent decision IMO.

Only 5 1/2 Games Back of First in the Eastern Conference!
Much closer to a playoff spot compared to falling in the lottery at this point.
My guess is that we are going to stick with a very tight 7-8 man rotation for the rest of the year and see what happens.
I'm not convinced the management is going to make a move to shore up the bench. I would like them to.
We have enough evidence to see how good this team can really be when they bring it defensively.

I think they make a move. I don’t think it will take much either. Dragic and a 2nd rounder should get you a decent bench piece.

seriously though, Masai won't do that, unless an outrageous offer came for either FVV or Pascal Siakam.

There is 0% we can get him. He is Victor Wembanyama who is ranked as #1 in a very deep 2023 draft. He is basically Rudy Gobert with a jump shot.

Wembanyama, highly touted 2023 prospect. Would go first if he were in this year’s draft easy. Personally idk, he has that Chet thing going but he’s bigger. Scouts love him.
He plays against Chet in this video btw. Very weird to see two super skinny skilled big guys going at it.

Ok yes, the guy in the French league. I remember him now. That vid of him was posted earlier in the season. It was good enough I sent it to a co-worker of mine. He's a Pistons fan.

Nah.
He is a 2 guard in a point god's body.
Great shooter, great defender. He ain't a playmaker and there is nothing wrong with that. Does he evolve into a playmaker at some point?
I dunno.
He's not a max player. you need to be dynamic as a max guy in this league and fred is very one-dimensional. 25 mil per year sure, but he's going to command way more than that moving forward and that makes him a trap IMO. You can't have the team rely on one guy a night, and expect them to find a solution the next when that guy is rendered into a role player.
I'm not convinced he can become a much better playmaker either. You need to be able to take advantage of mismatches in this league to generate opportunities for others.

It's been over for weeks now. And one guy just figured it out. The rest are still evaluating.

How many teams say "oh you're scoring too much and too well, you're becoming too valuable, would you kindly slow things down?"

Let's playin for 9th!

I think Wembanyama, Scoot AND Sharpe would all go #1 in this draft.
