Her background? Huh? I'm confused. She's from stubborn stock.

I recommended the Mediterranean diet. Seems to be a big deal for heart healthy diets.

I'm sure your mother will be fine, no doubt going the Mediterranean diet route would be good for her. Hell, we all would do better going that route, I'd be the first. :D

My brother in law and I have a jovial back and forth about getting the Omicron virus. His thinking is just get it and be over with it. I am of the thinking that we don't know the long term effects enough yet, better to try to avoid it. Also, the hospitals are filling up right now so we shouldn't risk being sick and having to give them more business than they need.

I don't think willingly getting it is a good idea. Vaccinated or not. I don't think anyone has a choice unless they stay in self quarantine until this all dies down some. Even then...

I have been to the Van Gogh exhibit 3 weeks ago and the other night I went to the Islanders game. So far so good for me but... eventually....everyone is gonna get this virus in one variant form or another. I may have already had it but...no test to confirm because I was deathly ill December 2019 and haven't been sick since. I have been exposed several times since. My kid got Delta 4 months ago. Got vaccinated a month later...has Covid again this last week. Crazy how it spreads.

Mediterranean diet is great. I stand by it. It was never really conscious with me. I just gravitated to it naturally. My father was a big eater. Make sure to use olive oil instead of butter and really try and reduce her sugar intake. Sugar is poison.

She has always used olive oil but...she doesn't have the healthiest diet. She's gotta cut fried foods sodium sugar fats etc. High cholesterol. We got her to quit smoking so far with the patch but...the diet is a bit of a struggle so far. Major blockages and 5 stents. It'll be a while but...she should be ok if she commits to eating healthier and taking her meds on time.

So here’s more “great” news on the new variants that will surely be coming our way. Thanks to the unvaccinated for your great contribution. The Corona Family is very appreciative.

Get ready to learn more Greek letters. Scientists warn that omicron’s whirlwind advance practically ensures it won’t be the last version of the coronavirus to worry the world.

Every infection provides a chance for the virus to mutate, and omicron has an edge over its predecessors: It spreads way faster despite emerging on a planet with a stronger patchwork of immunity from vaccines and prior illness.

That means more people in whom the virus can further evolve. Experts don’t know what the next variants will look like or how they might shape the pandemic, but they say there’s no guarantee the sequels of omicron will cause milder illness or that existing vaccines will work against them.

They urge wider vaccination now, while today’s shots still work.

“The faster omicron spreads, the more opportunities there are for mutation, potentially leading to more variants,” Leonardo Martinez, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Boston University, said.

Seeing how none of the vaccines have stopped the spread or infection...it isn't the unvaccinated who are the problem. I know people who are triple vaxxed and still got it. So it is doing its job as a virus. Almost seems weaponized. My daughter had it 4 months ago. Got the vaccine afterwards...has Covid again this week. Nothing is stopping the virus but for a moment it seems the vaccine was reducing the symptoms...of you believe everything you read/see. Maybe the vaccines aren't effective at all...or not very effective. I don't know and...it doesn't seem like the people in charge know much either.

Stay healthy and use your own judgement at this point. It doesn't seem like anyone has a grasp on how this virus works. Only that it is killing people and spreading like wildfire.

The vaccines prevent people who get them from ending up in the hospital and on ventilators and/or getting long COVID. I don’t know where you’re getting your info from but you couldn’t be more wrong. I just googled “what % of COVID patients in hospitals are unvaccinated”. It’s the unvaccinated who are driving hospitalizations and the variants.

https://time.com/6138566/pandemic-of-unvaccinated/?amp=true

The unvaccinated are also driving up our healthcare costs dramatically. From June 2021 through November 2021, the unvaccinated cost us $13 billion in expenditures.

I didn't mention hospitalizations or health care costs. The virus itself is mutating and it isn't just the unvaccinated spreading it around. These are facts.

Just had a minor convulsion / seizure after coughing .
Just had my 1st dose a couple weeks ago . Dropped my damn phone face down from the table so I know it was real. It was mild and painless despite gasping for air on my cough but wtf .
Yes I do smoke but I don’t deal with seizures or convulsions.

And generally I still feel mild stomach nausea like I got pumped with sewer water. Or that might be from being a Knicks fan .

First, maybe you should check into an urgent care center or email your PRC with you symptoms. Do you have a temperature? Can you taste and smell?

While omicron doesn't go deep into the lungs like delta did, I read that it does get into the stomach. Check that out. One shot is not enough to protect you from omicron. You need to be boosted to protect yourself from omicron like the two shots protected people from delta. That's how it works.

I'm boosted (3 shots) until June 2022. Anytime I'm indoors for food shopping or whatever, I'm KN95 masked, and I'm in and out. Never hanging around. Oh ... and I'm cannabis protected on top of all that. 8-)

Expect More Worrisome COVID Variants After Omicron, Scientists Say

"Scientists warn that omicron’s whirlwind spread across the globe practically ensures it won’t be the last worrisome coronavirus variant."

I'm not a scientist and I don't play one on internet forums but from the very beginning of the Pandemic I was thinking the world should really be looking at a sort of Manhattan Project to deal with this virus and any variants that are sure to come from it. The Federal reserve flooded the markets with an insane amount of liquidity (as much as 11 Trillion dollars), now you have people who are worth $300 billion dollars but you can't find kits to home test, or a proper N95 mask, our priorities are out of whack.

I sometimes wonder what movie title would best describe our situation right now: Is it Outbreak (positive ending) or I am Legend, The Last Man On Earth (not so positive ending)? To be very honest, I think it could go either way, my outlook changes practically on a daily basis. Interesting times we live in that's for sure.

Ballsac Bounce got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving one night. They drew blood and yep, you’re right. Cannabis.

Deaths Among Male Teens Increased by 53% Following COVID-19 Vaccination in 2021 and the Death Spikes Correlate Perfectly with the Uptake of Dose 1, 2 & 3

An investigation of Office for National Statistics data has revealed that since the Covid-19 vaccine began to be rolled-out to teenagers there has been a 53% rise in the number of deaths due to all-causes among males aged 15-19, and each spike in deaths correlates perfectly with a spike in administration of the first, second, and third doses of the Covid-19 injection to this age group.

Further investigation has also found that whilst Covid-19 deaths remained low among this age group following Covid-19 vaccination, they were still considerably higher than the negligible amount of deaths that had occurred before the Covid-19 vaccination was introduced.

Suggesting Covid-19 vaccination may have in fact had a negative effect on the immune systems of the teenage boys, or deaths may have been misattributed as Covid-19 deaths, as has been so easily done since March 2020, to cover up the fact that the Covid-19 injections may have played a roll in the deaths.

Rep. Jamie Raskin was on Hayes’s show (Mehdi Hassan host) tonight. When asked whether they will pursue subpoenas against Meadows, Jordan, and McCarthy, Raskin began backpedaling and equivocating … “We’ll, that’s a tricky situation”, he said without explaining why it was so “tricky”. Same kind of response te Trump. Raskin then said, “Unlike the Mueller Investigation, our inquiry is not about one man (i.e. Trump). It’s about how to prevent this type of attack on our democracy from ever happening again.”

Yada, yada, yada. Nothing is going to happen.

There is no one and I mean no one who wants to see this A-whole brought to justice more than I but I do understand that it's a very complicated situation, legally speaking. You better make sure you have your ducks lined up properly before you bring charges, especially after the whole Mueller investigation fiasco, you can't have that happen again. Also, someone made a good point on TV the other day, where they were talking about how it would be almost impossible to find a jury without at least one jurist sympathetic to Trump. Of course, you have other reasons to be careful, like his crazy followers, the potential politics involved, etc...
