20 million for an undersized guard and dubious defense...I guess we can't afford it...
Brunson(ST) for Randke + 1 from Burks/Kemba
Brunson(ST) for Randke + 1 from Burks/Kemba
1+1=11

I wonder what it takes to catch Hayward.. I agree with you, it would fit very well..
Hayward/Washinton to Mavs
Rozier/Dallas 23 to Pacers
Turner/THJ/Kemba to Hornets
Brunson to Knicks...

For reference, here are some guards that are around the 20 mil (17-22) mark in order of highest to lowest: B. Hield, Brogdon, THJ, Conley, G. Harris, FVV, Lavine, Dragic, Lonzo, E. Gordon, Bledsoe, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Rozier, Rubio, Dinwiddie, Fournier.
I would take current Brunson over a majority of those players, especially since he's still only 25.

How do you solve a giant gap on point guard position again? And what is the guard rotation? Luka, Bullock, Burke, Frank? 3 Knick rejects and Luka?
If you do this, then you would literally have to find a guard that can replicate what Brunson is doing now with DFS, S.Brown, Bullock, Green, Pinson.. Because there would be way too many wings on this team.

Yes, in NBA there are bad and good contract... That is the difference between bad and good GM.

He have too many mediocre wings... Adding Bullock and S.Brown was useless or even harmful.
For the bench i take a cheap vet PG with PO exp, Luka will play 40minutes in PO no needs a 20M guy in that spot.

No, that’s why you HAVE to trade him at the deadline. You need that money to go to a better player so you need to flip him for as much value as you can.

Hayward can handle the ball and playmake too. What you need is a secondary playmaker like him. Luka is still primary ball handler. Think of Hayward as a 6'8 verson of Jalen Brunson and can score more. That's the guy you cough up 80M for. Jalen Brunson is 6 foot nothing and would get eaten alive in the playoffs because he only plays one side of the floor. He is not worth 80M just because he racked up some good numbers when half of the NBA is out to covid protocols.

I hope NY says no to this trade and actually saves the Mavs. Or i should say "Dallas Knicks".
Meh, you've just got a stiffy for Brunson, so you don't want to trade him.
Anyway, it'll be the "New and Improved Dallas Knicks"!

You have to trade Brunson if you have no intention of resigning him. Personally, I think it’s more likely that Dallas moves THJ.

they are earning the same...no padding is needed... Of course I do it every day... why would the Kings want THJ... worse shooter, 1 year older and longer contract... I'm a Hield to Mavs fanatic..a guy who hits 40% in 10 3 attempts..I think he just needs a new stage to shine..but I think he just had to shunt Tim to a 3 team...
THJ//2 seconds(Mavs) to NOP
Sato/Hield/ to Mavs
Temple/Bullock to Kings..
an idea... At least Kings saves a ton and gets some help on defense...although they'd probably cut Mavs I guess.. I don't see much of a market for Tim, without adding sweeteners...
Wizards..? Perhaps for Bertans... simply positional they are loaded with forwards Pistons..?apparently they actively pursued him
NOP...they also looked for him, they have a giant TPE and expiring (Sato) they are not the destination of FA...however they are a deep lottery team...why pay them, without incentives?
Heat...for Robinson...it was disappointing...and I think they wanted Tim...lateral movement?? I would.. Tim is maybe a better player, but Duncan is more of a specialist.. Who knows...but I don't see much of a market

Re: Trade Discussion 21/22
Mavs are apparently in the hunt for Turner but their asking price is high. They want two first rounders or a first rounder and a young talent. DFS and a first rounder might get it done. They’re going to have to decide if they’re going to trade Brunson or DFS. I still think they’re trying to move THJ at the trade deadline too. If you can trade THJ for Buddy and give up a first rounder and DFS for Turner the. You have to do it. Then they resign Brunson in the off-season. Moving Porzingis seems highly unlikely.

Don't expect too much. Imagine Powell on steroids... and for $1-2m salary instead of $11m. He has a lot to learn and improve on offense... but his athleticism is awesome and his vertical is nuts. Also has very good lateral movement because of which he is a very good defender. I see him as a nice, cheap 2nd/3rd center to use alongside Porzingis/Kleber... who also gives Luka a good target for lobs. And if Chandler and Kidd can coach him up into being a starter, even better.

Yes, because in many ways he has a better season than guys like Tatum or even Booker. And it blows my mind how some of you guys fail to understand how important he is for this team. Even Mavs reddit is campaining to keep him and that says a lot since those guys would usually trade anyone not named Luka.
But anyway, Brunson's improvement and ability to play with Luka at the SG has been drastic and it shows in result which is the most important thing. Also his ability to carry team when Luka is out has been incredible so far. Obviously the big elephant in the room are the playoffs, can he finally have a break out year or will he dissapear 2nd season in a row. But for now, it looks like he can be very much trusted. Afterall, he's only 25yo.

Re: Trade Discussion 21/22
Brunson definitely shouldn't be traded for 23 1st or some questionable talent, and I wouldn't lower his value by attaching other player, he should be traded if a big upgrade become available.
In general, THJ bad play kills any meaningful trade scenario for a star, he's becoming a negative.
I'd like to use the TPE to help the Clippers save tax money by eating Ibaka and get Batum, dude is a legit defensive game changer, with his ability to switch as a big on the P&R and offensively he's a good shooter and cutter.

Brunson value is very high right now, none teams will have cap space next summer.
If someone wants him has to trade for him and he is playing at high level this year, Indiana is a lottery team and sell his players like they are superstar. No way.
DFS has a lot of value too, he starter bad but now he rocks.

Nic Batum would be a good get. He plays smart.

Re: Trade Discussion 21/22
Here's a post I came across in the trade section of the forum... it seems Duncan Robinson isn't that wanted in Miami? So it got me wondering... should the Mavs offer THJ + Moses Brown or Boban for Robinson + Yurtseven. What do you guys think? Can the Mavs use these two players on the team or even use them in a future trade?
somerandomdude wrote:Duncan Robinson and he can be had for the low low price of free.
We'll even throw in Omer Yurtseven because Spo hates anybody who shatters his world view on small ball.
