44: Utah Jazz (29-14) vs Los Angeles Lakers (21-22)
The Lakers are under .500 and have some injuries, so while the Jazz played last night, they should still show up. But this one has the potential for the Jazz to lay an egg.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

While DM has stated many times this season that the Jazz are a targeted team after last season's record, which is true, the Jazz have always targeted the Lakers, so I don't see them laying an egg on this one. The recent losing streak may be just the thing this team needed. It isn't that they lost 4 straight, its who they lost those games to that has the media nodding their collective heads saying, "see, I told you Utah isn't for real". The totally dismantled Denver on the road, now I look for them to do the same against the Fakers.

Paschall was productive in his 9 minutes of play last night. Hope he graduates to double digit minutes tonight and continues to play well! Go Jazz!

Clarkson is so frustrating this season, I think the new points of emphasis have just murdered his game. I'm ready for him to be gone, as fun as the run has been.

I can't believe how much I hate Russell WestDick and the Fakers. I do like my Rams winning tonight.

Didn't watch the game, but I just saw the highlights and dear Lord, that Westbrook dunk... Gobert might need some therapy after that one (but props to him for trying to block it). And Westbrook with only 2 turnovers, that must be a season low or something.

Re: 44: Utah Jazz (29-14) vs Los Angeles Lakers (21-22)
It was our offense, not our defense, that cost us this game. Holding an opponent to 101 points is usually plenty good enough to win. But Mitchell, Clarkson and Bogey shot a combined 9-41 and 0-18 on threes.
To Laker's defensive credit, it seemed like a fair amount of our threes were contested, and in Q4 we started settling for some difficult threes even before we were substantially behind. For example, with the Jazz only down three, 92-89, Mitchell took a difficult, very long 31 foot stepback three early in the shot clock and predictably missed imo. 15 of our 23 Q4 fga were 3pa and we only made two of them. Mitchell drove once early in his Q4 stint, but got his shot blocked and then didn't drive for a shot attempt again, notwithstanding he had five successful drives in to the paint earlier in the game.

Re: 44: Utah Jazz (29-14) vs Los Angeles Lakers (21-22)
Wow, In my previous post, I guess I was remembering when players on the Jazz really got up for any game with the Lakers. Really too bad that this group was so awful. As with most of the games lost this year, this was an absolutely winnable game, just seemed like the only player wanting it was Conley. No response from anyone after Westbrook received a tech for his taunting of Gobert. Granted the dunk was terrific, but that should have been the point where the players said, oh no you don't, and took over rather than allowing them to bully and rough up the game. I'm trying really hard not to lose faith, but man do they make it difficult with such poor play and weak response to challenges.

That’s why we need Marcus Morris to get up into somebody’s grille, Joe Ingles used to do that but he’s soft now.
Ingles is cooked.
