Boogie really felt like (watching him on the court at least) this year’s PJ Tucker. Idk how usable he would’ve been come playoff time, but he was tough and reliable.

At best the watch story is a funny example of a broader dynamic with Boogie that made Bud / Giannis think he wasn't a good fit in the lockerroom.

Whether or not those considerations rose to the level of not wanting him to eat up minutes for the regular season (as opposed to ownership just not wanting to pay him) is an open question in my mind.

Ideally the Bucks think BroLo is most likely coming back healthy in the not too distant future and aren't sweating the backup 5 spot so much in general.

I figured they would move it up a bit since the Packers are on at 7:15. I'm surprised it's not 5:00 but maybe since they play Friday night they didn't want to move it up too much.

Also for those of you out of market the Friday night Bulls game is now a national game (ESPN)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Worst decision ever to let cousins go, i dont care if he sucks at D, he was a big tough body under the rim who gave Giannis space and got people out of the way.

Call him and apologize, give him a deal until the 23/24 season.

btw Claxton for DV is that possible?

A RoLo-BroLo reunion is happening in February. I can feel it.

I'm guessing Boogie told the Nuggets he wouldn't ink his 10-day until this Friday so he could have the chance to play against the Bucks on the 30th. WATCH for it :)

Giannis can obviously play a great center, but against teams with actual bigs like the ones faced recently not named the Nets or W's, it puts undo stress on him. Just need someone competent at that position to eat some minutes so Giannis doesnt have to expel as much energy.

You're wondering if the Nets will trade us their starting center?

I would be shocked to see Bucks/Nets make a deal, but his name is out there

I know the losing streak of sorts started when Jrue went out, but Boogie was also waived at the same time

Giannis looks run down to me, he could not get around Okongwu last night and Anunoby a couple nights ago

Playing him extensive minutes at center, really runs him down quickly I feel

I don't know why but prominently featuring pictures of Grayson on the Pride Night ad is cracking me up. Like anyone not closely following the NBA surely would assume he is gay based on that ad.

Bringing RoLo back just feels like such a Bucks move that I can easily see it happening too.

Also Boogie not being nabbed quickly by another team gives me hope that it might have been a basketball decision (if only due to team chemistry) vs purely a financial one where we let him go.

Either way it'd be a shame if Giannis is feeling run down by all the center minutes in mostly meaningless games this time of year.

Sitting in a converted dining room next to storage spaces that housed hockey equipment for the Toronto Maple Leafs in Scotiabank Arena on Dec. 2, Mike Budenholzer fielded questions for about seven minutes about center Brook Lopez having undergone back surgery.

It was the culmination of a 42-day period during which the Milwaukee Bucks’ starting center had suddenly appeared on the injury report with back soreness in Miami on Oct. 21 and had not played since.

For as alarming as the phrase “back surgery” can be, especially for a 7-foot, 280-pound man who had logged nearly 28,000 minutes in his NBA career (regular season and playoffs), Budenholzer did not rule out a return to action for the 33-year-old center.

"We feel good about the surgery today and he’ll begin his rehab and do everything he can I think to put himself in position to play for us," Budenholzer said that day, before the Milwaukee Bucks took on the Toronto Raptors. .

That hope remains, as Lopez has been in Milwaukee and getting in some work on the court at the Sports Science Center, per team video. In December, Budenholzer did not publicly discuss any sort of timeline for a potential return, but the current feeling in the organization is the rehabilitative process has gone great and Lopez is on schedule.

Lopez had never missed games in the NBA due to a back issue in his previous 13 years, and the fewest games he had played in a season were five in 2011-12, when he had foot and ankle injuries.

Lopez has been on the court for just one regular-season game, playing 28 minutes in the Oct. 19 opener against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Bucks signed DeMarcus Cousins on Nov. 30 to add some depth behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis but elected against guaranteeing Cousins’ contract for the rest of the season and released him on Jan. 6.

It's more like 7.8. Bamba would fit. My guess: Justin Holiday. We get a 2nd back too, replace the one we forfeited for NOT signing Bogdanovic.

Yeah, Holiday via trade and RoLo via buyout feels like destiny. Gotta out brothers Tony Brothers.

Bamba still feels like a pipedream, last thing they need is another guard on the cusp of a payday.

A few days late to reply, but would throwing in some 2nds be enough to get us Bamba? DDV+Nwora+2 2nds?
still learning the game

If the team sources talking to Jim Owczarski are right about BroLo then the Bucks probably won’t be making any splashy moves for a backup 5.

That article included a lot of good background but here’s the newsworthy bit:

That hope remains, as Lopez has been in Milwaukee and getting in some work on the court at the Sports Science Center, per team video.
