I’m bummed and happy for Johnson. Because of Coffey (deservedly) he’ll get no time with the big team this season. But he’ll get a lot of minutes and reps with the Caliente.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do with him next season. I mean he’ll still be behind the same guys he’s behind now. I just they don’t trade him now.

Scrubb is such a smooth looking player you'd think he would have gotten more chances with the big club. He's really nice at driving and creating mid or short range floaters but seems not quick/powerful enough to consistently finish at the rim? (46% FG in G-League...)

FWIW in a game with all the best A-players at your local gym, I bet he would absolutely look like the 2nd coming of Michael Jordan.

He’s been injured. I was wondering when he’d make his debut. Certainly something to monitor.

Checked the box score and he played 24 minutes.

6-12
0-2
1-2
14 points
5 rebounds
8 assists
4 steals
1 turnover
+11

Makes you wonder if they’re thinking of this route for the backup pg. if not this season then maybe next. They’ve been interested in him in the past.

I’d think he has potential as a situational backup PG for us. Certainly not more than that, but that would absolutely be great for us now.

We don’t absolutely need one, but might be called for in certain lineups and situations.

TOs were a bit high but anybody who put up 6 apg in the NBA is a REAL point guard. Gotta give him a look if he gets healthy.

Huge win tonight against the South Bay Lakers! BBJ and Moon really stepped up. The AC Clips are going to the Western Conference Finals to face RGV. Not bad for the first playoff appearance in franchise history. :D

That was a fun and stressful game. Just like the big club.

It’s a shame we have a glut of guards. I really like King.

Team has come out with a stinker so far.

Fi with his revenge game. Out here flexing and sticking his tongue out. To his credit he’s got his team playing with emotion.

And they’re done. The first half did them in.

The Baby Clips started the G League campaign by splitting with the Santa Cruz Warriors...Darling dropped 34 during the win while Jay had 9/7/9

Caught bits and pieces of the second game, and I really think Xavier Moon deserves a two way contract somewhere with some big boy burn. Wondering if the buy out market ends up bare, if the FO will convert Moses to a full deal and give Moon the other two way.

I know we have a ton of players but we gotta get these two involved somehow. Maybe slowly but respectfully phase out Reggie and Batum for starters. Doubt it but man, the kids need to get some playing time. Just think, they'd get at least 25-30 minutes if they were on the Lakers

I want to see Brandon slowly get some burn, but it's not going to come out of our point guards' time. It's going to come out of Coffey's time, which currently is almost none anyway (and that's with Kawhi out!)

Collectively as a team though, we do need some young (athletic) legs on the floor.

If Diabate can play fundamentally sound basketball at AC (regardless of numbers), I think he will get some minutes in the big floor at some point this year.

100% agree with the last post. Again, our biggest team issue is--too many players. Coffey is an NBA player, maybe even an NBA rotation level player. He's a 20-25 mpg player on a bad team, and a 12-15 mpg player on a good team. He's playing half of that now, even with Kawhi out. Unless we move a player ot wo, Boston won't get any burn.

And, tbh, the type of guy we want to get for whatever players we move is a long PF/C. Diabate may be that guy long term; we still need someone now. (Our rebounding numbers are .. bad.) My money is on a deal getting made with either the Kings or Magic. They've got our SG/Sf issue in the frontcourt--too many players. The Kings have Trey Lyles, Chimezie Metu, and Richaun Holmes splitting 29 mpg--and Alex Len literally never gets on the court. With the Magic, Mo Bamba is playing less than 13 mpg, and Jonathan Isaac and Mo Wagner are (IMO) being held back for medical reasons. Any of those guys would help us, some more than others.
