In the short term yes, but long term no. If a whale comes available this off season, let's say Donavan Mitchell, We would need Duncan's salary to make it work. That is a very valuable contract and we should not just use it to trade for a bench player when you can use it for a star.

If Duncan can get hot in the playoffs, he is way more valuable than anyone we can get for him straight up right now.

I think we ride it out with Duncan, It's not like we don't have any other shooters right now. We have Struss and to a lesser degree Martin and Vincent. There is no question Duncan needs a change of scenery but the timing just doesn't suit us right now. Moving him in the off season can get us much more in return.

This Is a good point and also wouldn’t surprise me. I think Mitchell’s time with the Jazz is up within the next year or 2, maybe even this offseason.

Robinson Herro and Tucker with picks would match salary and assets I would say.

Lowry
Mitchell
Jimmy
Martin/Strus
Bam

Or we go big like some want:

Lowry
Mitchell
Jimmy
Bam
Yurt

At that time Herro will be on his extension? which would negate the need for Robinson. Also it would be interesting to see how Wade and Pat would work out a trade or would ego preclude one.

One guy we should be looking at is Will Barton in Denver.

Can defend and shoot the 3s

Bam's sloppy handles continues to be a disservice.

The kind of effort Miami made tonight against the Trailblazers without Lowry & Butler... It's just amazing and, yet, it is exactly what all of us now expect from them. Am I right?

Guys I think I figured out why no yurt tonight unless there is an issue with his own immediate reality (health, personal problem, etc)... if they want bam to easily make it into the All-Star Game, they have to feature him big time as the Lone Star with little help, bam has very little playing time

I have to say that I want bam to make the All-Star ... so spo and Company might be right

Yurt did not play tonight cause Bam and Dedmon are the two Centers operating and Spo is not going to play Yurt with Bam. Tucker is the starting 4 and Martin has been playing the majority of his minutes at the backup 4. It’s not really that hard to figure out why he’s not playing. We have the best Center depth going in the league. Now i would like to shore up the 4 spot and move Martin exclusively to the backup 3 role. Need to ship out Robinson to make this happen.

Once Morris is back we should be pretty deep at the 4 too. Barring his neck getting pulled off I mean.

Just wish he could hit 3's. THat's a huge need for the PF next to our Centers.

But if you're just looking for a clean way to dump Duncan's contract, this might be it.

Fans need to stay hard on Bam aggressiveness like they did with Embiid. Hopefully he finally sees it. Bam has the ability to get 50.

That’s not who Bam is. I wish we stop trying to make a player what his not. He is an athletic, high motor, decent dribbler when he doesn’t change hands, positional defender, who can score around the basket at a decent clip, with an occasional jumper when he feeling it. Jokic and Embid size and length along with their footwork, soft touch will always allow them to have a greater scoring output. Bam is a 20pt scorer, his all around versatile game makes him an all star. There aren’t many transcended centers in the nba at one point in time usually 1 or 2 and we’re lucky we have a top 5 center.
