The Sacramento Kings organization has a current mindset: They are not trading guard De’Aaron Fox, sources tell The Athletic.

The Kings remain active in trade conversations, informing teams in the marketplace that they want to build around Fox and second-year guard Tyrese Haliburton, sources said. The Kings have informed Fox and his representation, agent Chris Gaston of Family First Sports, that they do not want to trade him and want to center the team around him and Haliburton.

ya the supposed Sixers deal is clearly just Morey trying to pump up the trade packages. The old "if team A is willing to give us allllll of this the rets of you should up your packages" gambit. Makes sense. now Sac, not wanting to be used, issues the response shooting it down.

Unrealistic expectations (Philly/Derek) vs Serial Incompetence (Sacramento/Hansel), I don't know who wins that battle to be honest.

Simmons will be a sign and trade for Harden this summer imo. The rest is just saber rattling.

I have no doubt that they were trying to move Fox for Simmons, but Fox' agent found out about it and the Kings were afraid that Fox would pull a Simmons.

I thought you couldn't combine a trade exemption with players? Was it just separate deals? The NBA is so confusing.

The biggest problem in the Simmons sweepstakes is there really isn't a good landing pad for him.

He's actually paired up with the right type of player in Embiid but they just can't make it work.

I mean what would Sacramento even do with him, honestly. That would be such a mess.

The same for Portland....

What other players are even a good fit? Sabonis, KAT, Bam?

He really is in the best spot fit-wise...Leaving aside the personality/commitment issues, are teams that are clearly not a good fit going to give up big talent to get him?

You can acquire multiple players and absorb them into a single TPE, but you can't combine multiple TPEs to acquire a single player.

We used the Hayward TPE on Fournier and the remainder on Richardson.

I can't think of a single star that's a worse fit with Ben Simmons than Embiid, an ISO specialist who lives in the paint.

Really? I think it's exactly what Simmons needs...a big who can play in the post and pick and roll....

pairing him with these ball dominant wings and guards is just recipe for disaster IMO
