Don't know why this keep coming up in this thread but Bamba just hit all his jumpers tonight, think that all but one or two of his buckets were long jumpers. Mostly in pick n pop, hit 6 or 7 3s in the 2nd quarter alone. He was hitting stepbacks and stuff, good on him. I can only recall one basket that wasn't a long jumper, garbage bucket when Drummond was pulled away from the play.

Do people really think that Bamba would be bodying Embiid and schooling him or something? That's not what Mo Bamba does.

I think people aren't really grasping that Jokic is, in back to back seasons under wildly different circumstances, having the best seasons of all time lol. He's getting about 26/14/7 on +8 or so TS% (64.5 or so TS% this year) with two of the team's other two best players missing. When playoffs are taken into consideration, he's probably a top 3 scorer in the game, is probably the best passer in the game and he's pretty much unstoppable in all phases of scoring the ball. He doesn't rely on one thing like Curry or Giannis, he is literally unguardable for big men because his footwork is too polished and he's got a dirk-level midrange game and a really good three ball and he passes like Larry Bird. When you can control the game to the extent he does *AND* score at GOAT levels *and* you're a positive on defense — or even a neutral — it's really hard for anyone to be better than you. Tobias isn't a great player, but he's definitely a 2nd option on a first round playoff team 20 ppg on solid efficiency type of guy. Tyrese Maxey is averaging 17 ppg efficiently and is solid on defense. Seth Curry is one of the best shooters in the league, and he's averaging 16 ppg. In essence, Embiid has *three* teammates who are better scorers than Jokic's current second-best scorer. And yet, Jokic still has nuggets playing at a good 52-win pace. This isn't really a convo. Gotta compare Jokić to 2009 lebron.

? In their last PO series, Embiid scored 30.4 ppg against the Hawks last playoffs, Jokic 25 even against the Suns. Embiid scored over 30ppg in his last real series before that too, vs BOS in the bubble. Jokic had a nice 33ppg against the Blazers last year, but year before was only at 22ppg in a losing effort vs the Lakers.

Definitely not trying to say that makes him better than Jokic (it's easier for Jokic to be consistent so I'd take him), but you can't knock Embiid's PO production.

Thats hilarious. You say you actually are a fan of Jokic but you say he doesn't play defense when he has played good defense all season.

This is Jokic even disregarding the health issues though its close like always.

If anything the gap may have increased since Jokic has improved defensively.

Giannis is miles ahead of Embiid overall. Peak, total career value, accolades. He has better stats right now even and is the better defender. What argument does Embiid have over Giannis.

Also Embiid is a way worse playoff performer than Giannis. Giannis "bad playoff" runs top Embiid's top playoff runs....

I feel a bit sorry for Embiid, he would be the best big man between 2012 and 2018. He is unlucky to play in the Jokic Era (as Ewing was unlucky to play in the Hakeem/Drob times)

The thing where people pretend Giannis isn't a big because he's good at dribbling is let's say different at best. In any case Embiid is indeed awesome and for sure a top three big in the game. No shame in that with two all timers ahead of him, he might even be third best overall in the entire NBA.
