Bam has been an all NBA defender back to back seasons. He is very much clearly one of the 3 or 4 best and most versatile defenders in basketball. Implying otherwise would be very stupid.

December (8 games): 13.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.9apg, 0.9bpg, 0.9spg, 1.1tpg, 29.3mpg on 56.5%fg, 43.3% 3fg (1.6/3.8) and 68.2%ft (1.9/2.8)
January (9 games): 13.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.0apg, 0.4bpg, 1.2spg, 1.1tpg, 28.9mpg on 55.8%fg, 41.9% 3fg (1.4/3.4) and 93.3%ft (1.6/1.7)

26yrs old and starting to break out. This doesn't include the elite defense he has been playing either. What a find.

It also does not take in to account the unusual obstacles this year has brought too. A good run of 30 some odd games without interruption to get on track could do wonders for him.

His baseline performance game in and game out has been surprisingly good, but he has flirted with excellence too,,,

I don't see how getting Thad Young helps us in any significant way. We may as well keep Duncan for a whale trade if that's all we can get for him this season. Some of the other guards mentioned we trade for don't really help us either.

I am still hoping that Spo sees the light and lets Bam play PF alongside a real C. It doesn't have to be Yogurt, since I know Spo doesn't trust rookies, and also likes to show his "vets" respect by honoring their roles as long as they are available to play, regardless of how they play. If he's willing to do that, I still think we should be going after Turner.

As the owner and operator of the Turner to Miami bandwagon, I really think he is the absolute perfect fit. Has the defense we need and Spo prioritizes, as well as the shooting to still give Bam and Jimmy space. It just makes sense. He is probably even less expensive now with the foot injury, although that is certainly a worry. He's also an expiring next year I believe. If it doesn't work out, he'd still be a valuable trade piece or just come off the books.

I just think if he can seriously be had for Duncan, which I think he can, we should be going all in to win this year.

I’d love Turner, that new recent stress reaction injury in his foot has me worried though. Would we give Duncan KZ and a pick just to take the gamble or would we play it safe and go after a barber/buddy type trade

I don't see the point in Buddy Hield unless its straight up. Because Hield clearly >>> Duncan. But otherwise I think we have enough at guard, maybe even not enough min to go around as is (Caleb should be playing guard or SF, not a 4 imo).

For me, I'd go all in with Duncan, KZ, and a pick for Turner if that's what it took. I wouldn't do two picks in any scenario, but I'd do that. I'd even switch out KZ for Dedmond if that's what they wanted? But that'd be a blow to our chemistry. Dedmond seems to be a great locker room guy.

Bam is a big man. Bam is a front court player with ability to match up against any one defensively.

The incessant need for some fans to pigeonhole a player into an antiquated positional structure and then advocate and obsess over it is beyond bizarre to me.

Embiid owns Bam’s ass and it’s not even close.
Giannis gave him fits.
All elite bugs give him fits.

Something doesn’t seem to add up. I’ll try to find Embiid numbers.

I think its well known that Bam is incredible defensively. At least I hope. Its on offense where he struggles and frustrates a lot of us. And a lot of that is mental like I told you before. If he gets that attack mindset, he can easily be an efficient 25 ppg scorer. And not just on lobs and assists, but more of the creator we need him to be.
