Giannis needs to learn how to show contact to the referees. He could learn a lot from Chris Paul and Harden.

Oh god no. I love watching Giannis. I don’t want that to change.

Generally I don't think DDV has looked near himself. Not suprising off a fairly serious injury. But, if you're facing paying him 10-15/mil after this year I think I'd rather just roll with Pat and Allen. I've been a DDV supporter but with the contract situation I'd definitely be open to moving him. I'd guess a thick depth big can be had for very little, so using him to target more of what they hoped Semi was going to be would be a better target with him.

What if it's similar to PatC's contract? 3/16, maybe with a team option instead of a player option would be a good deal for us imo.

we have Wes, DDV, Pat, Allen playing basically one position
then we have only Giannis and Portis for the two frontcourt positions
I like DDV but if we could trade him for a similar level player but big I would go for it

Yea if he takes a team friendly type deal I'm down. He's a solid player when healthy and operates well doing the little stuff you need around star player. But get into that 4/50-60 type deal and I don't think I'd be doing it with two other good options on roster likely for cheaper. Before the injury I probably would've been fine with such a deal (plus not having Allen) but now I'm pumping the brakes a bit. Who knows, hopefully a month from now he'll be back to his old self.

Wait a minute...we can offer team options?

The offer I see Donte getting if he returns near normal ROS IS 4/36 with an opt out option. He really hasnt done a lot and his injury history will cloud his potential, especially since his potential is 6th man and at this point if he can still be a valuable 6th man option he would be able to opt out and cash in after 2024

Agree. We need a forward with length. Justin is OK, but is neither a combination forward nor better than what we have. Donte will eventually make some shots.

That's almost exactly the contract that Alex Caruso got. Here's the thing: Caruso is a better player than Donte. He's a better shooter, ballhandler, passer and defender, plus he's less injury prone. There's no way I'd pay Donte over, or even near, what Caruso is getting. (Sorry Hollinger.)
I think the Conny contract comp is more accurate. I think he'll probably get more than that, which is why I really hope they move him at the deadline. Better to cash him in for some value now than either give him his next (likely overpriced) contract or letting him walk for nothing.

The play is to sign & trade Donte for a pick in the offseason. Why are we talking about trading valuable postseason rotation guys at the deadline, again?

In Gianni’s case though, he would actually be flopping on real fouls. He just needs to help the refs out a bit when he’s being mauled.

I'd probably agree your return in the offseason is liely greater in such a trade. But, also a risk of getting nothing.
The idea to do it now would be you have Allen/Pat playing the same spot as him and better than him. But we need another bigger guy in the rotation, so he might be the only route to get such a guy. Depending on what you get of course, you might help out this year's chances but hurt future chances as you're likely getting less now than in an offseason deal.

What valuable rotation guy are we talking about? If you can get someone to give any value whatsoever for Donte you do it. We have four guys playing the same position and he’s playing the worst by far and is the worst shooter of the bunch.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Wigginton signed to two-way, Smart waived
The plan should still be trying to turn Donte, Nwora, +crap for Bamba if possible. Then Thad Young in the buyout market if possible. We’re not going into the playoffs with healthy giannis if he keeps logging minutes at the 5. For the purposes of this exercise I’m assuming Lopez is either done for the season or not going to be a playoff contributor as he works his way back.
Portis (28)/Bamba (20)
Giannis (36)/Young (12)
Middleton (34)/Connaughton (10)/Matthews (4)
Allen (24)/Connaughton (10)/Matthews (10)
Holiday (34)/Hill (14)
That would be my ideal look in the playoffs with some flexibility along those sg and sf minutes depending on matchups.

Rather not see him flop around like a clown. IMO you should play with integrity.
still learning the game

I would try to rehab his value a bit first though.

Now 15 days and no one has signed Boogie. Denver was supposedly going to sign him and maybe they still will but they haven't. Eventually someone will but while money may have been a reason we didn't keep him it's not the reason no one else has signed him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

What integrity is there when you're not doing everything you can to help your team? Flopping is effective and the NBA endorses it by continuing to reward it.
