Just how good was Carlos Delfino?

Post#1 » by Lala870 » Fri Jan 21, 2022 3:26 am

He seemed like one of the more underrated players in his day. This highlight mix is well made.

He always seemed to play kind of nonchalantly.

He was an above average player that made a decent 6th man, but there was a reason why he was called Chuckfino while he was with TO, the ball tended to stick to him and he would jack it up a little too much. Seemed like he was able to get a charge per game I remember as well. But he was one of those players like Lou Will, whos style are great for regular season to provide instant offense, but not so much in the playoffs when chucking up the ball doesn't work.

I remember he was a very solid role player for the rockets. He was a good 3 point shooter.

This was his most memorable moment as a rocket.

He was like a poor man's Manu Ginobili. Around those years we had a few guys that were suppose to be the next Manu. Rudy Fernandez was another one.

I want to say he was inconsistent but at the same time I don't think he was fortunate enough to meet a coach that used him to his potential. Good size, decent handle, can shoot, not bad defensively.

He looked like a vampire. So, he was pretty good at doing that.

That’s the typical YT amateur compilations 10-15 years ago. They copy/“borrow” other YT posters, and then insert their bagged music with blurry captures and the original clip sounds gone.

I'm not sure how old you are but graphics back then were not very good. The first color TV was sold on 2009. Not a lot of people appreciate this.

If I had 1 cent for every pixel in the video on the OP, I'd have 32 cents.

He was pretty underwhelming. Was one of those guys who should have been better than he was. Didn't have star potential, but should have been a more meaningful role player, IMO.

That mix is horrendous.. even for its time.

Just a very random/irrelevant role player to throw out there. Like another poster mentioned he earned the nickname Chuckfino for good reason. From my memory he was an ok playmaker.

Talented with a low Bball IQ. Took bad shots etc.

Yep, bad FG% throughout his career. Very inconsistent.
