Embiid 23-10 70% Joel over the last month has averaged 32, 10 and 5 all while being way more athletic than Jokic too. Joel scored 50 in 27 mins played 1 minute in the 4th while Jokic needed overtime to beat the clippers G league team.

If the Clippers are G league team what is the Orlando then  At least Clippers are competing hard against everybody. And Zubac is a better player than Mamba as well.

So out of 19 categories listed there that Jokic is leading in, a person named Embiidhomie says that 2 of them are skewed because Jokic gets lots of defensive rebounds (cause that's a bad thing i guess, didnt know) and you are using that as an argument in this discussion? Embiid is destroying the competition in the past month and you can talk about different aspects of that run justifiably, but you use this? Common man.

Also, didnt someone post that Jokic has highest % of contested rebounds? Maybe someone can look up that stat (i have no idea where to look for it) but that would kinda put a damper on that statement if true.

Take a look at opponent fg% at the rim for Jokic.

How many years they been in the league to only have played 5 times?

Also we not talking about who wins, cause hell Embiid and Jokic best players on court damn near everytime they lose. For Zeus and Odins sake the Wiz just be the sixers.

I just want to see these two face off because at this point this thread got me loving both of these guys even more!

I love both their games, I think RealGM has gotten really unreasonable with Jokic, there was a thread asking if he should be DPOY. The thread poll just ignores Giannis, who is still the best player in the league. The idea that Embiid isn't on his level is crazy to me, since it's pretty much accepted that Embiid would have won the MVP last year if he didn't get hurt.

Embiid has the right to win any MVP he deserves ...but Jokic remains the better player. :)

I have not seen anyone say Embiid sucks. Some of us just believe that Jokic is actually better and that Embiid, while great, isn’t as good as Jokic. And I don’t know the stats but I would take a wild guess and say the reason Jokic and Embiid hasn’t faced off more is because Embiid was hurt...and hell I would parlay at the MGM that it was a different injury more times than not. And when we talking the ability of Availability Jokic has Embiid beat....notice how Even you say Jokic beat Embiid last year because Embiid was hurt and the last time the 76s and nuggets played guess what? Yep you got it, Embiid was out....just saying

The board would not melt down if he won an MVP....but this years AllNBA team has a shot at melting the board down....with Embiid and Lebron joining Curry,KD, Giannis and Jokic in the MVP race and Ja,CP3, Trae, Derozen and Booker all making all nba runs...it could get spicy if Miami wins east and Butler not in, harden starts putting up harden numbers while KD out and nets win east, Luka starts doing Luka type things and Dallas in top 4 in west...I mean there are not enough 1st second or 3rd team spots this year and too many deserving guys

Just my thoughts on this topic:
1. They both are great players
2. Treads about Jokic as DPOY or Jokic better than Wilt etc. are stupid
3. Treads about Embiid being better than Jokic or having as good a season as Jokic, on RealGM a month ago, were stupid because he was not close then. In the last month or so with his great play Embiid is in conversation as MVP candidate or best Center in the league
4. It is not accepted that Embiid would have won MVP if he didn't get hurt. Embiid was in front for some people, because his team was 1st in the East while the Nuggets were 5th in the west. Nuggets finished 3rd in the west and Jokic was better by every advanced stat. So If Embiid wasn't hurt there is a chance that difference wouldn't be 91-1 in first place votes for Jokic, but as I see it majority of people here still think that Jokic would have won.

He most likely wins it last year, they had a 76.47 winning percentage with him on the court, they were 10-11 in the games he missed and 49-23 overall. They'd have the best record in the league if he even played another 10 games, best record with dominant numbers gets you the MVP 10 out of 10 times.

They are both great, they are both behind Giannis, who I think would be a horrible matchup for both in a series.

Embiid will only play if it is in Philly, the Nuggets are on a back to back, and he has plenty of rest, and even then they stagger his minutes so that he plays most of them when Jokic is off the court.

Embiid is 4-1 vs Jokic

In those 5 games Embiid was outplayed by Jokic. He shoots 37.6% (yes, thirty seven percent, 29/77) in those games. Jokic is 41/84 at 48.9%. Literally shooting over 10% better.

He has absolutely dominated the matchups.

Yeah but he didn’t because he got hurt...so he didn’t win the MVP on this earth but maybe embiid did stay healthy and won mvp on earth 15121....but last year Jokic was MVP...and Embiids last month doesn’t change history.
