Great win!

Having Aldridge back has been so huge for our bench.

We NEED Kyrie for home games man.

35 minutes for Kyrie and 37 for Harden. That's a big improvement for Nash.

A taste of what’s to come at least down the stretch. That was a full on effort in the end.

Defense was so much better today. We need to keep it up.

This win also exposes that our melt down last game earlier this month was a fluke. Boy oh Boy do I want to see the big three together romp on teams.

So we move up to the #1 seed where we guarantee home court in the playoffs and Kyrie can't play in Brooklyn? lol. Damn.

Also, tbh Nets are much more fun to watch without Durant. Of course he makes us a better team, but Harden and Kyrie running the show is much more entertaining to me.

Winning % with various members of the big three

1st - Harden & Kyrie
2nd - Big three
3rd - Harden & KD
Last - Kyrie & KD

Harden & Kyrie is like Harden & CP3 but more deadly on offense. Harden & Kyrie backcourt might be one of the best if not the best in the history.

I'm not sure we can say that given the small sample size with Kyrie. He definitely helps push the pace, which is what you should always do with so much offensive firepower. You want to maximize the number of possessions and shots these guys get every game.

Since we're seeding watching, the ideal would be if Miami and Milwaukee get to #2 and #3. Only having to face one and not until the conference finals would be huge.

This also has to do with the nature of KD and Kyrie. Harden can’t play with KD in the same style he does Kyrie. In blunt terms, KD is the alpha dog on this team and Harden/Kyrie won’t mess with that. Respect to Kyrie for brining KD here but it’s KD’s house now. KD is also the most efficient of the three scoring wise and the best player. But Kyrie/Harden is exciting and I love Kyrie’s style of play. He can’t be guarded.

As long as the mandate is lifted by March, we should be fine. The only positive thing about not having Kyrie for most of the season is he can’t get injured playing all 82 games and he stays fresh. Hopefully when the Slim Reaper returns, the big three will formalize full time and dominate and grab that ship.

The spacing with Harden and Kyrie is amazing. Hardens assist numbers are a reflection of that. The score would have been even higher if we didn’t miss easy shots first half. Adding Durant make us unstoppable in the postseason where the game slows down and teams just start looking for a bucket. There isn’t a player on earth better than Durant.

Watching these games, I still think there are a sh-tload of areas to clean up.

We still have our players (led by these big two) taking obvious, high-odds shots with regularity. We still have lack of movement (or really, purpose) on O, as what caused me to throw my TV out the window (cut my stream) in the 3rd quarter, after seeing too many examples of Nets players passing around the perimeter to other Nets who were completely defended. It was borderline comical / depressing, as you might have it.

Because the goal is still to run an offense such to produce the highest % shot possible, all things being equal. This has to fall on Nash, end of the day.

At the same time, I was greatly admiring the job Pop & crew do with their young team, using energy & awareness to make this a close game for most of the contest, when it might have (should have?) been a blowout, otherwise.

That said, I'm really enjoying the rooks KEd, Big Stronkie, and Cam. Despite my bitching and moaning about all the above, I could definitely see them playing small but valuable roles here n there in the playoffs, not to mention next season.

Bonus fun: I wound up being routed to the Spurs stream for this game, and that crew is so great, non-homerish, fun, interesting. They even have an excellent counterpart to Sarah Kustok!

Kessler and Sharpe have basically unlocked unforseen depth for this roster. I really don't think either guy should go to the bench regardless of who returns.

Harden/Kyrie/Kess/KD/Sharpe.

Max spacing, wing defense and a rebounding finisher.

Then off the bench Mills, Harris, LMA and you mix in the others.

The Nets offense is predicated and based on Houston’s offense during the Harden years. ISO ball and finding shooters when the D collapses as Harden/Kyrie/KD drive. You can thank Mike for this offense and this year it hasn’t reaped many benefits because Kyrie was out most of the season and injuries.

When Claxton comes back whos minutes do you cut?

Sharpes?

We obviously need Aldridge for offense.

Particularly since Mills & LMA are such geniuses off the bench, but increasingly lesser in value with airtime.

This really is a super-good roster IMO, but it doesn't have much margin for error or missing players going against top teams, I'm thinking. EDIT: or clueless coaching.

Joe's an extra-interesting case, btw. His advanced numbers were absolutely twat (both O & D) before he went down. Like, we all talk about the VITAL need to bring him back soon as a sniper, but does it actually move the needle as much as we're all hoping for? I'm honestly not sure.

Clax might have played his last game for us. I would not be surprised if he’s traded before the trade deadline.
