Pretty strange... There must be something going on behind the scenes.

It would be a lot more confusing if there was a handful of contenders fighting for the top seed whose starting center went out basically the entire season and have not a soul to play backup big minutes.

The Bucks continue to have the greatest backup center in NBA history.

Playing him 40 minutes a game in the regular season so we can beat Charlotte seems like a good idea.

Bobby without the 3 point range. Center only, which is just too limiting in defensive scheming. Wouldn't address a need here.

Well I agree that he isn't great fit for our needs I like him as player. Not to informed about this year but I recall him just being a underrated guy. He is undersized and not a great 3pt shooter. Although not a shot blocker think his defense is a plus. Thought he had a decent mid range game as well. I don't know the fit for us is bad but I still like the player. Think he makes us better.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

I was actually talking about Giannis, who averages just 32 minutes a game.

I know who you were talking about. Since Boogie was let go we've played 8 games since Giannis sat out against Toronto with an injury.
Three of them were rather convincing wins and the other 5 Giannis has played 37, 35, 35, 37 and 37 minutes. The entire month Boogie was here Giannis played over 35 minutes twice. Like awesome, Giannis is a good center, we should not be adding the extra wear on his body right now under the guise of flexibility or whatever. If it's not Boogie, who was good for us, that's fine. We need somebody and unfortunately Semi Ojeleye isn't even good enough for 10-20 minutes thrown around.

he's 6'10" so I wouldn't call him undersized.
decent player, decent defender, doesn't shoot 3s.
I think he'd help a lot, but he has 3 years $36M AFTER this year.

We need to add a forward, sure, just not a center. We should be preparing for the playoffs, and big slow players just don't fit in the rapidly changing NBA, especially come playoff time.

MKE: Oubre
SAC: DiVincenzo, Nwora, Ojeleye, CHA '23 1st (Top-20 protected or two 2nds)
CHA: Holmes, Hood

-Bucks get bigger/more athletic and add some scoring pop to the bench. Oubre's 7'2" wingspan makes him formidable on defense, and his style fits well in our system. He's also a valuable expiring next season at $12M.

-Kings have long been linked to DDV, plus grab Nwora and a heavily protected first for Holmes while cutting $6M of salary.

-Hornets get their missing link big man.

Holiday / Hill
Allen / Matthews
Middleton / Connaughton
Giannis / Oubre
(Lopez) / Portis

We're literally trying to win games for seeding and pumping out Giannis for unnecessary minutes because we don't have the personnel to do so without him breaking his back every night. It's cool if you want to pump that a guy like Boogie couldn't help us but the stats that you love to throw down peoples throats whenever they aid an argument for a guy you like/hate show that welp, he kinda was. They want to talk about flexibility, having a guy on the roster who you can throw out there 15-20 minutes a night would help with that right now. Boogie literally was that but someone other then him doing that would be awesome as well. Maybe they have something up their sleeves but the longer we go by it sure would seem like they're just hoping something falls into their laps and as you loved to point out before Boogie, they probably just made a money move at the end of the roster. It would be awesome if we could just look past all that and look towards the playoffs. Reality is whether we're playing Chicago or Detroit, were scraping by on the skin of our teeth most nights and were in a battle with 3 other teams homecourt. You are right though, having another forward on the roster would be nice. One kinda more like PJ Tucker and less like Semi Ojeleye.

Nah, we need a forward who's long, quick, and good defensively. Tucker was none of those things.

Boogie was cut because of his personality, and because he's not a playoff rotation player. Nothing else.

Interested to see how Boogie does in Denver, on and off the court.

No way would the Jokic brothers abide accusations about watches going missing.

Also whether the Bucks actually do anything with the “flexibility” dropping Boogie (as opposed to Semi) offered us.

If BroLo is coming back soon or if we pick up RoLo or someone else (if only to effectively take the load off Giannis in the regular season) it’d be different than if we keep flailing with useless scrubs like Kornet.

Happy Jason Kidd is fired day everybody!

Such wonderful memories:
On why he was intentionally fouling 86% career FT shooter Reggie Jackson with the Bucks up by 4 and 10 seconds left:

"They’re trying to play the game of quick twos to save their timeouts, so we’ll just play the free-throw game with them. I believe that my guys will make the free throws. They miss one and it works. It’s a free-throw game no matter what, but we wanted to send them to the line"

On why he asked Khris Middleton to intentionally miss a FT with the Bucks up by 3 with 2 seconds left and the Cavs had no timeouts:
“We talked about it as he walked to the free throw line,” Kidd said. “My first response was to miss the second one. We’ll take the bet of someone making it from the other side of the floor. If we did make that free throw, our luck they get it in-bounds at half-court and we foul the 3-point shooter and it’s a four-point play. We’ll take our chances with them heaving a full-court shot.”
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

Playing just about any time in an NBA season with literally two bigs on the roster is stupid. It's reckless. It's literally the reason Boogie was signed in the first place. We played two months and it was visibly clear Giannis was slowing down before our eyes so we picked up Boogie for a month. Believe whatever you want for the reasons we cut him, that's fine, but it's undeniable we need another body. Our avenues for adding said player are also just so extremely limited that expecting this magical playoff performer to come in and be more than Marvin Williams/WCS or something is kinda wild. The line they throw out was flexibility so they wait a month until the trade deadline. If we get something there cool, if not we'll likely be waiting another month until playoff rosters are set and teams begin cutting guys. So far we've replaced Boogie's 15-20 minutes with Semi DNP's and 3 minutes of blowout time from Luke Kornet. If we're waiting three months while Giannis and Bobby are busting their asses for the hopes that a guy who is halfway decent becomes available when we had a guy who was already proving to spell the available minutes then again that's just stupid and reckless (to go with cheap).

I know it may not be possible, but Mo Wagner is the guy I would like to see the Bucks target. A backup who can give you scoring and scrappiness

Bucks only trade assets (Donte + I imagine) for Wagner if we think Brook is done for the year.

The risk Wagner takes the QO for $10 million would also make me fear we’d be doing it because Portis and / or BroLo might be done here period after this season.

"Scrappiness"
This would instantly quadruple our current team flopping ranking. Giannis would veto appropriately.

Just realised Haliburton is from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I now want him even more!

Was watching the game via the Sac feed. The commentators were focusing on Haliburton. He was all smiles prior to the game cause his parents were in the arena.

Btw, he had a great game:
24 points
12 assists, 4 t/o
6 rebounds
8/14 from the floor and 5/8 from 3pt range

North retired his jersey this week.

One thing I will say is that both Haliburton and Herro have really weird fathers. Different cats that’s all I’ll say about that.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
