Jokic just doesn’t have the team to get him the record otherwise he should be mvp . That team would be lottery team without him.

JA vs Giannis
JA vs Jokic

Have been amazing Ja might not win it but he is by far the most impressive.

Jokic in his last 5 games

27 PPG, 12 RPG, 11 APG, 1.6 SPG, 64 FG%, 50 3P%, 89 FT%

basically a 27 point triple double on 60/50/90. Nuggets suck though lol.

Lots of new money has been coming in for Embiid in the MVP race. Curry has been sliding but remains the betting favourite (must have been all that early money that came in on him). Curry +185, Giannis + 333, Joker & Embiid +500. Morant is now 5th at +1100.

I don't think Jokic can win unless the Nuggets climb to the 3 seed or better, probably needs the 2 seed. Winning it on a 3 seed is already pretty rare, and kind of an exception situation, which he did last year. Just can't see that happening two years in a row, particularly if there's a good candidate ahead of him in the standings. Here's how I see it:

1. Curry: if he turns things back around and the Warriors get the 1 seed, he wins

2. Giannis: if Bucks get to a top 2 seed, and #1 above doesn't happen, he wins

3. Embiid: if Sixers finish ahead of Bucks, and #1 above doesn't happen, he wins

4. Morant: this is a sneaky good value play, if the Grizz finish above the Warriors, or slightly below and Curry continues his slump, and the Bucks/Sixers don't get a top 2 seed, Morant has a great chance of winning

Lebron also has a chance if the Lakers get a top 4 seed, people will slobber all over him.

I got Embiid at +3000, Ja MIP at -200, Herro -550 6th man and Monty as CoY +380 to wrap up a 12 leg 15 --> 182k parlay could cash it out for around 700 now but I can see Embiid getting it with team success factoring in (top 3 seeds in East are within reach, while top 3 seeds in West are likely out of reach). If team record didn't matter, it's clearly Jokic's MVP, but missing two max contract players on the roster isn't conducive to a top 3 seed.

Nice. Yeah I got in early on all of those - Embiid +4000, JA at +1600 (MIP) Herro +1100 (6th man), Green at +1600 (DPOY). Went with Spo at +1200 over Monty at +300 for the odds, but I think Monty is approaching lock for COY status.

3-horse race for MVP in my books between the 3 bigs, health may be the determining factor in the end.

Really hope Ja takes MIP. Have a big bet on him. Do you think he will get votes? He’s campaigning for his teammate to win. Worried bridges might take it

Jokic with 4 triple doubles in a row while shooting 55%+ and counting. Last person to do that was Wilt Chamberlain with 6 in a row.

Side note: He shot 55%+ in each of those 4 games. He’s nuts.

Didn't Westbrook do more?

I think he meant 4 games row scoring a triple double while shooting above 55 percent. Last one to do that was wilt who did 6 games in a row

Yeah, if Ja stays healthy he's a lock. I mean, he's in the MVP conversation now so MIP I think is all his.

Option one - Giannis' team at the top 4 in the east and Jokic's team record rate worse than %5 compared to Giannis', Curry keeps his low standards till the season end,

Option second - Whether Giannis' team in the top 4 or not, Jokic's team record rate get closer to Bucks and Curry couldn't turn his season start level,

Option third - Whether Giannis' or Jokic's team record, Curry turned his high standards

. Wonder what will happen.

The Grizzlies are third in the West and on pace for 55 wins. If the Nuggets end up as third in the West Jokic will win his second MVP, unless somebody else stands out big time individual and team wise. But the Nuggets simply don't have the personnel to pull it off.

Team success really matters for the voters. I can't see how Jokic will win the MVP if the Nuggets dont end up at least 3th seed and for this to happen the chances are so few.. Probably Giannis will win it this time.

The fans here can vote for anyone they want but in the reality Jokic is so far away of being the MVP again. Just saying the obvious thing here..

The poll question is about who we think deserves to be the MVP, not who we think the voters will choose for MVP.

That aside bkref's MVP tracker has Jokic first at the moment, while just about every betting site I can find has Jokic third behind Curry and Giannis with his odds generally sitting between +500 and +650. Even the NBA's most recent own MVP ranking has Jokic first. Jokic not being in the race due to the Nuggets only being the 6th seed sounds more like wishful thinking than reality.

Jokic' path to the MVP is reliant on what others do regardless. If Curry regains his form he'll run away with it and if the Bucks or 76ers get a top seed then Giannis/Embiid will likely win it. If nothing like that happens you've got to give it to Jokic though as guys like DeMar, CP3 and Ja don't have enough support as MVP level players despite their teams seeding.
