I dont think he'd get the max at this point but knowing that by the time his extension kicks in, the cap could very well be north of 170 million dollars, I could see us agreeing to a deal that may appear to be an overpay.
If I had to compare RJ to a guy right now, I think that Jaylen Brown is the closest to where I see his trajectory being. RJ's efficiency isn't quite there, but he's still really young and Brown didn't really find his way till his age 24 season (4th year in the league). I think the skillset and the demeanor are similar in both players honestly. RJ is 21 right now.
