Massive frustration. If you're another team; and you watch our games --- which of our players would you really want?
And if you want any of our players, is that an indictment of our coaching?

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XLII
Our GM has put together some good trade capital. Every one of our players is of value to some other team. I'd like to see Shep put some trade together that get us out of a soon-to-be-maxed Beal, Bertans, KCP, Dinwiddie, Gill, Harrell, Neto, and maybe even Kuzma. Shep seems to be good at putting trades together. I hope he does something that gets us good younger players, and draft picks in return.

I do feel we have transitioned to a sell low position - but I don't really know how to read this.

Sheppard is only good at being mediocre and putting a reflection of himself on the court.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XLII
Kuzma has to be worth a first now, and the dropoff to Rui/Deni wouldn't be that bad. KCP and Harrell together, maybe another first from a contender?
Not sure if Beal will allow Tommy to trade his buddy KCP. Maybe they could toss in some chipotle gift cards on top of the 250 mil they about to give him to get his buy-in.

Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

While I have no desire to trade Kuz it's time to do something.

Anyone think we could land Sabonis AND Grant?
Maybe something with Bertans & Deni to Indy, and Trez, Winston, Todd to Detroit?
I don't hate the idea of Sabonis and Grant, but you're not going to get either for spare parts and by attaching bad contracts unless you're going to attach a metric **** ton of picks and swaps for the foreseeable future.

Trades aren't going to be the answer here, the Wizards biggest problem is Monumetal's Greek genius.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XLII
Very likely we go 1-8 in the 9 games before the deadline (already 0-3) and sit firmly in the 11 spot in the east as ATL, NYK, TOR, and Boston all pass us.
Tommy isnt an idiot and just received his promotion. If he is smart he can do a quick sell off of short term assets (Harrell, Holiday, KCP, and even Kuz) to get some flexibility and future picks. Let Deni, Rui, Kispert, and Bryant run wild and see what you got with them heading into the offseason.
Simmons is a wild card if he isnt dealt, because a healthy Dinwiddie, a young wing (Deni or Rui), and the 10th pick might be the best package out there.
Even if we finish out of playoffs, I think Beal resigns if we make a move for another star without giving up all the booty. And another star will certainly be at least interested in DC if Beal is locked in and our young players show promise.
Either way, this year is sunk. The teams right in front of us (Boston, ATL, Toronto) are simply more talented and catching their stride.

Not as high on the trade market as it is in keeping him. He’s already an all NBA caliber defender, is 20 years old and is on a rookie deal.
You keep and develop him. Full stop.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XLII
I would not entertain a trade involving one of our young pieces (player <=26y.o) unless some other better young piece is part of the return, if I were GM Shep. I could be convinced to trade Kuzma, who is 26 y.o right now. Bite the bullet and start the rebuild. Amass as many 1st rnd picks and young talent that can be gotten. I don’t mind a team, with purpose in rebuilding, sucking for a few years. It’s better than sucking and trying to make the play-in game.

See I wouldn't mind Tommy heading a rebuild I think he's a crafty G.M. but you have to remember his goal is what ever Ted tells him the goal is so he operates in this lines. You can say what you will but if Ted goes full rebuild is be happy having Tommy at the head of it.

Well considering sheppards draft picks have been busts so far, it would be safe to say that turd doesn’t consider a rebuild. Expect a trade for a mediocre player using said busts as the bait.

Grant and the Wizards?
Ross D. Franklin/Associated Press
The Wizards may have too much depth on their roster, especially with Rui Hachimura (personal) and Thomas Bryant (knee) back playing. Washington hasn't exactly flourished after a fast start and is looking to consolidate talent to give Beal a greater incentive to stay long-term.
Several competing executives believe the Wizards are leading the chase for Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons, who soon could be back from his thumb injury. Grant left the Denver Nuggets to take on a more significant role as an offensive player in Detroit. He's also thought to want a lucrative long-term extension before the end of next season.
Some also say the Wizards are open to dealing veteran point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, who hasn't quite meshed with Beal. The Pistons might have interest in players like Deni Avdija, Montrezl Harrell and Hachimura. Detroit could also be looking for a new home for Kelly Olynyk.
One dark-horse team mentioned as being interested in Grant was the Dallas Mavericks, with Dorian Finney-Smith and probably Dwight Powell as the primary pieces. The Mavericks have also been linked to Collins in Atlanta and Marcus Smart in Boston.

Sabonis for Spencer, Bryant and Rui works in the trade checker.
If they through in a useless player and we add in a future first, would the Pacers do it?
I think they wouldn't, but:
Beal Holliday Neto
KCP Krispy
Kuz Deni
Sabonis Bertans
Gafford Trez

Not sure why you would say this.
Rui was an okay pick. Not necessarily the best guy left on the board, but he was better than a lot of guys picked shortly thereafter.

Only Thybulle and Clarke were clearly better in the next 15 picks, maybe Herro too, but I'm suspicious of his stats coming against backups. PJ Washington and Cameron Johnson are more or less equivalent but not necessarily better. Everyone else is worse.
Deni was a solid pick. Haliburton is better. Vassell is roughly equivalent. But other than that, I'd take Deni over everyone else picked in the next 15 slots, except perhaps Maxey.
And Kispert is looking like a very good pick. Sengun is better, but other than him, I don't see anyone else better in the next 15 picks. (Kispert is old though. Other guys might outpace him in the coming years.)
Sheppard hasn't exactly hit any home runs, but so far, there haven't really been any home runs to hit. Overall, I think Sheppard's picks have been solid.

Re: Official Trade Thread - Part XLII
Dinwiddie, Bertans and a pick for Simmons? Heck, I'd even throw in Hachi and or Bryant.
Why for Philly? Win now. Dinwiddie can do what he does best and the Sixers need: Dribble the ball up slowly and lob it in to Embiid.
With all of the double teams on Embiid, Bertans can do what he does best. Stand in the corner and shoot open threes.
Simmons Holliday
Beal Krispy
KCP Deni
Kuz Hachi
Gafford Trez
Lock down lineup of:
Simmons
KCP
Deni
Kuz
Gafford
