Was watching the game via the Sac feed. The commentators were focusing on Haliburton. He was all smiles prior to the game cause his parents were in the arena.

Btw, he had a great game:
24 points
12 assists, 4 t/o
6 rebounds
8/14 from the floor and 5/8 from 3pt range

there was lots of support for Haliburton at the game.
maybe 30+ people, lots with Kings/Hali jerseys.

North retired his jersey this week.

One thing I will say is that both Haliburton and Herro have really weird fathers. Different cats that’s all I’ll say about that.

Haliburton's dad is a long time referee, and a good one. I didn't know him outside side of that, but he seemed like a good guy.

I'm still shocked at the teams that passed on Haliburton on the draft. He fits every roster.

Wait they're not gonna publicly execute him? Weak.

I feel bad for Grayson. Really thought he's acted professional all year. Did not think that foul was anything more than a high-effort play. Definitely was going for the ball. Social media is killing him right now.

I hadn’t watched the Brook clip yet, cool to see his teammates treating it as a milestone.

One game suspension is fair for Grayson. He might not have played anyway due to injury but he'll still have to pay the fine.

-Bucks get bigger/more athletic and add some scoring pop to the bench. Oubre's 7'2" wingspan makes him formidable on defense, and his style fits well in our system. He's also a valuable expiring next season at $12M.

-Kings have long been linked to DDV, plus grab Nwora and a heavily protected first for Holmes while cutting $6M of salary.

-Hornets get their missing link big man.

Holiday / Hill
Allen / Matthews
Middleton / Connaughton
Giannis / Oubre
(Lopez) / Portis

Do we think the Bucks would consolidate most of our end of roster guys (save Thanasis) as contract flotsam?

How much salary could we take back if we were to deal something like Donte + Nwora + Hood + Semi?

It’s not like any of those guys were critical to us winning a ring. But dropping 4 players from a contender by the deadline would be a pretty substantial change — which certainly could be warranted — just am not sure how often something like that happens.

I'd rather pony up the 2nds ourselves and cut Charlotte out. No interest in doing this for KO.

I don't love it either, I would also rather have Holmes if SAC is down to part with him without getting a 1st back. Oubre is far from perfect, or even good really, but he can play up to the 4 with his length, and his sizable expiring might be a better trade chip next season than an extended Donte, although if we can rehab his value by the summer then that is likely false.

I just don't think there's many teams willing to cut there own players to open roster spots to execute the deal. We'd have to make it a multiteam deal and send out 2nd round picks to offload Hood and Semi.

Mostly likely, we'd pursue a lower salary player.

I think most teams have guys they'd be fine with cutting to improve their position in a way that's more important to them. If cutting a guy or two is all that's standing between the trade return they want, they'll do it. That is negative trade value though and you probably are talking about cash or 2nds as an offset, like you said.

Allen getting a bad rep around the nba universe will actually make him easier to retain once his contract is up. He could be someone around for a long time assuming we want him to be around. Or I'm overreacting and within two weeks nobody will remember the foul. Not sure yet which it is.

Wait, we have to add something to DDV to get Kelly freaking Oubre?

I mind it. A lot.

I think that's quite awful for us tbh.

Oubre's now on his 4th team in 4 years and is right up there with Caris LeVert on the extreme end of the "out-sized reputation as a scorer vs. an entire career of inefficient chucking to prove otherwise" scale. Don't really get the appeal with him anymore.

I wonder if there's any way to get Garuba out of Houston.
