I'm not proposing this for anything other than a joke, but have " **** the Packers" Garrappalo wind up in Green Bay next season....

The Seahawks loss broke me, I live in AZ and was going to try and go to that SB. I've never cared as much since although last year I let the hope back in a little. Mistake. Yesterday's loss was probably the least I've ever cared about a pack playoff loss.TJ_Ford_11 wrote:My motto for next season and beyond:

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Rodgers really soured the whole experience for me. I’ll always root for the Packers, but between his off season BS, his in season QAaron act, & then his complete indifference last night, I came out of the whole experience pretty numb. Aaron is a d-bag & growing more unlikable by the minute. When he’s not helping your team win, he loses pretty much any grace he had left for me as a fan. Kinda ready to move on. I reserve the right to lament this position in the middle of next season, when Love looks mediocre, lol

So does Rodgers have a no trade or something, why are they not shopping him for the most absurd ricky williams type deal.

Can't trade anyone until March 16
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Not a chance. That would be the worst thing they could possibly do.

When I say early I’m talking late 2 or 3. Green Bay did this in Rodgers first year as a starter as well when they picked Brohm and Flynn in the 2nd and 7th round respectively.
Do it for Chuck

I expect we go back to a lot of noon games and our lone national game (every team gets at least one) will be a Thursday night against the Giants. I guess McCarthy going back to Green Bay might be national. Or at least 3:25.

Was coming on to say this. Used to love Mcginn but then realized everyone sucks. Not a good word for anyone. These scouts just live to act like they're so discerning so they must say something critiquing. Annoying.

No specifics here, but if Rodgers leaves, beef up the defense and running game via a couple of tank years and then trade for a later-career disgruntled QB (e.g. Wilson, Carr) if you don't find one in the draft or if Love doesn't pan out.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?
The Rams announced their trade for Stafford on January 30, 2021.
The Wentz trade to Philly was announced on February 18, 2021.
They did not become OFFICIAL until March, but teams agree to these trades before the new league year begins so they can prepare for free agency and the like.
If Rodgers is getting traded, there is no reason for much delay. We could know about it by the end of the month.

Completely different environment these days. Look at what happened in Philly. Social media would be at Loves neck after 1 bad game. You just can't do it.jakecronus8 wrote:XtremeDunkz wrote:jakecronus8 wrote: I also think they may draft a QB early depending on how the board falls to keep Love on his heels.

Re: Packers 2022 Offseason Thread
I pulled this from another forum. If the organization wants 12 back and he wants back. They can do it.
With the inevitable reorganization of the roster in '22, it might be useful to explicitly identify the full universe of realistic cap-clearing moves. Estimating GB's maximum achievable cap space (MACS) will make clear what is and isn't possible in terms of '22 roster construction.
Cap relief in '22 depends almost entirely on a dozen premium contracts, adjustments to which generate the following approximate savings:
(*Savings through extension are rough estimates)
If there are other notable moves that have been overlooked, or if the projected savings are inaccurate, please append.
By most estimates, GB stands approximately $55m over the '22 cap. As can be seen, they're capable of clearing considerably more than that number. The obvious restructures (DB, Clark, Jones) clear $16m. All the potential extensions clear $40m. A few cuts (e.g. Cobb, ZSmith, Lowry, Crosby) clear $30m.
As an example, all the bolded moves above would leave GB more than $30m under the cap, with Rodgers still under center. That seems sufficient to re-up Adams (assuming a reasonable '22 cap figure) and several of their own free agents, pay their RFA's and fill out the rest of the roster.
When viewed through the lens of achievable cap space, GB's '22 situation seems fine. If they can ink Rodgers to a cap-friendly number, they will, with a few exceptions, be able to mostly "run back" the '21 team if they so choose.

I wouldn't be too thrilled about kicking the can down the road to keep this team together. I honestly think they're spending too much on star-caliber players at the expense of avoiding weak links. It's the wrong balance. I'd trade Rodgers, try to tag and trade Adams if possible (but not if they have to add too much future dead cap to create room for his salary), and just keep guys like the Smiths on the last year of their deals. Go into 2023 with a lot more flexibility. Hope Bakh bounces back a little and can be traded when his dead cap is about 60% lower the following year. See if defense and the run game can get you to 10-7 with a puncher's chance in the playoffs.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

We had a brief discussion upthread about the really crappy state of the NFC North. Everyone will suck next year and probably the year after. Does a 10-7, or even 9-8 record win the NFC North?

I think this is pretty much exactly what I would do as well, with the caveat you cut the Smiths if you need to in order to be able to tag Adams, either to keep him or more likely trade him. Can't let him walk for nothing, so need to find a way to make that happen.
Trading Rodgers and Adams this year, should give you some nice defensive pieces in the draft and hopefully a WR1 you can start to grow.
Trading Bakh the following year should also net you at least an additional first, maybe more and you probably are able to lock Yosh into a pretty reasonable extension and hope he keeps developing his game.
