1.How should they make room for Harden at deadline?
2. Will the nets even budge in the summer ?
3. Is this season a wash for the 76ers?

Maybe but why do it now ? If teams feel like they won’t move him before the deadline why try chase for Ben when they can spend time and resources on other deals ?

I think it's partially posturing, but I also think Morey is quite serious about waiting for the summer if he doesn't get a deal he's alright with come the deadline.

I'll eat my crow if they waste a year of MVP Embiid.

Because he is trying to regain the upper hand. Last week he admitted he would take a top 40ish player.

By stating that they may wait until the off-season, he is trying to push people into upping their offers.

Perhaps Morey isn’t getting offers he likes, and he feels the reason is that the buyers think that Morey must trade him by the deadline. If that’s the case, he’d have Embiid speak, and get stories like this out there, to try to produce some leverage?

The truth is, we don’t know. The absence of a trade does not mean Morey is being lowballed, or that Morey is asking way too much - we only know that there hasn’t been a price established that both sides find agreeable. This recent rumor (and I stress, it is a rumor) may be true, it may be posturing, but regardless, I expect trade talks on Simmons to continue.

Sounds like Morey still isn't loving the offers he's getting for Simmons. His evaluation of Ben's value is not in line with the other GMs. I Still expect a trade by the deadline for whatever he can get. Then he'll try to sell the trade to the fans as a win.

The next step is how do they move Tobias and not give away too many assets by the deadline since it’s wash season without good starting pg

I think we have just as good a chance as anyone else the way embiid is playing.

So BS role in BKN on offense will be to bring up the ball, dump it off to a real star and then go stand in the dunkers spot because he’s useless otherwise?

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

It'll take contributions from the perimeter guys regardless of how good he's playing.

He was superb last season in the postseason too. Wasn't enough.

I don’t think this good one sense it’s just means teams are unlikely to even bother in trying get Ben at the deadline . It’s almost at the end of January .GMs jobs are on line .. (Rob Plinka :banghead: )

I mean he was also playing with a partially torn knee
