Meh. I don't think it's going to hurt at all.

I see him as a Posey type, off the court and on alike.

Well, he has a different spread of positions he plays (1-3 vs. Posey's 2-4) ...

Well they are trying. Going into the season, if this team was around the .500 mark, then trading Schroder is a priority. So they are working on trading Schroder.

Also Al has been good on defense but his offense is not what they were expecting, as he is shooting career lows in FG and 3pt%. There is a chance of Al being moved. Ime continues to play the double big for some reason. It's not that the double big lineup can't work, but it won't work when RWill can't shoot 3s and Al is Marcus Smart bad at shooting 3s this season.

JRich could be another guy that could be moved. If he stays, then look for Langford to be moved.

I want us to go after Jerami Grant or Harrison Barnes. Not sure what the Celtics have in mind but I hope they are looking at those 2.

He's an OK player, but so was Brad Wanamaker.

Barnes has always been my number 1 target. Will be interesting to see if there are any strange rotations by Ime against the Kings tomorrow. Let the Kings get a bird’s eye look at a particular player

I love J Rich, but it seems like a good sell high opportunity.

I was kinda figuring he'd be a guy they'd wait to move until the offseason because his contract could be used in a bigger deal, but it's possible.

To me, if you're just getting offers of expirings and a 2nd or so, I'd pass on moving him

Same. He's not even that old. 28, so entering his prime, and you have him cheap next year. I think you keep him unless it's a bigger deal, as well. Gives you the option in the summer of using his salary, or being able to include Aaron and/or Romeo instead if a team wants younger guys.

Now, Shroder.... take a couple 2nds and run.

Hey guess what?!?!?

Philly would prefer to wait for Harden for Simmons… and I would prefer to bang Mila Kunis.

Full disclosure I wouldn’t trade Smart for Simmons and I’m not that big on Smart…but he’s still a better teammate.

This is my Master Plan (14-Player) Trade.
Bwahaha!!!

Image

Celtics
Get to make 3 New TPE's: $27M Horford, $5.8M Schröder, $2.6M Freedom.
While acquring PG Markelle Fultz long-term, and Jalen Smith for a viewing. Lopez is a 3pt shooting Throw-In Big off the Bench.

Suns
Get rid of 6 Dead-weight players; while bringing in 4 x 1yr Contracts (incl. Schröder for a look-see) and T. Ross on a 2yr.

Magic
Use up most of their Expiring TPE's (Feb 10, 2022). Plus, they Create a New TPE for $12.9M of Fultz.
They'll have to Waive a player.

Looks like Celtics would likely have to give some type of Picks.

To clear Theis’s salary….they signed him to a 4 year contract.

It's fine for the Celtics and the Suns, but I think the Magic get a little hosed, yes? And while I would love to unload Horford, I'd rather just wait than give up a pick.

Makes no sense to trade for J.Smith…Celtics will only be able to offer 4.8 million. Many teams will pay more.

Bogdanovic (finger), Ingles (ankle) and Conley (rest) all not playing tonight in Phoenix. Smart can be traded tomorrow. Pretty interesting.

Probably means absolutely nothing but pretty interesting

An apparently successful pick seems like a lot to give up to dump Theis.

Besides, we don't know that they want to dump him at all. (For example, they might trade Wood.) We also don't know whether somebody would accept him w/o incentive.

Isn't Jalen Smith a poisoned chalice in that the team that has him is the only team that can't resign him for more than $5m?
If you have him and he's good then another team can steal him easily.
If you have him and he's bad then you can keep him.

https://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2022/1/4/22867145/phoenix-suns-jalen-smith-predicament-should-they-keep-him-or-deal-him
Now that he’s finally showing signs of life, this benefits his trade value without a doubt. The drawback, however, is that the Suns or whichever team acquires him in a hypothetical trade would only be able to offer him $4.67 million.
