As others have posted, we really brought it that game. The intensity was sky high at times and it wasn't just Suggs and Mo Wagz; at one point in the 4th, after being called for an offensive foul, Markelle, Suggs and coach had to convince Wendell not to murder the ref. Schofield also had words for DeRozan at one point. Credit to Suggs and Cole here, they played peacemaker a lot, although Suggs also threw in a lot of instigation.

Also really happy to see Okeke make some shots, Mo Wagner played awesome again and Iggy + Schofield played well above their station.

And Suggs - **** hell. What a monster.

Incidentally, this whole game was like the first half against the Lakers. They just let us take it to the cup and our confidence lifted. That even spilled over to our 3 point shooting. The way to beat us is to form a wall around the hoop and make us beat you with jump shots. I guess the Bulls just didn't have the boddies to give it a try.

Mo Wagner and Jalen Suggs are the beating heart of this team. Their energy changes everything. For exemple WCJ is a better player but he needs them to stay engaged and motivated. There are players who create energy, there are players who run on their own energy and there are players like WCJ and Okeke (and to my observation Fultz) who need other players to thrive.

Cole Anthony and Mo Bamba are a hinderance right now. Not defending, not being able to play team offense. I dont think stats show how bad Anthony played. We would be better with Admiral Schofield starting over him.

Chuma is playing great defense right now. Like really great defense. When his shot fully returns there is no way he is not a rotation piece or even a starter.

This win feels so good!
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Best part about Jalen's night wasnt the dunks or defense, it was the hype he brought. He egged on the crowd, hyped them up and he didn't like the Bulls fans in the stand, it looked like he was yelling at someone when he was shooting ft's at one part.

I'm also very happy Okeke is looking like an NBA player. We have something building!

Spoiler:
Read on Twitter

Just take a second and really sit with this reality.

Jalen Suggs, a rookie who plays a position that defensively most players absolutely bleed points at their first 3 years, is not only positively effecting that side of the ball, but he’s proving to be in year one a top 5 guard defender in the league.

But anyways, it’s too bad he can’t dribble.

I want to say I feel so sorry for anyone who got stuck with those damn Bulls announcers. Did Suggs and Franz run over there dog before the game? I don’t think I have seen such contempt
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I went back and watched the game, and this is exactly what happened.

It started sometime around the mid-3rd quarter. I believe he was at the free-throw line and started mouthing "this is my city" and running his hands over the Orlando on his chest. Then after a drive where he got fouled in the fourth he started verbally yelling "Magic city" to a Chicago fan in the stands and proceeded to knock down both free throws and told him to sit down. This culminated two possessions later in the monster dunk where he started verbally shouting at the fan/fans again.

Personally, I'm here for it. It would be nice to have some type of pride when it comes to our homecourt. It's almost the All-star break and that was this team's 3rd win at home. Suggs also had to watch these previous two games Lakers fans and Chicago fans come into our house and outnumber us.

I think he's just fed up with it and I want everyone else to be too. We've needed an edge and some pride to us for 10 years now. Suggs is going to back everything he says up with balls to the wall intensity and momentum-shifting big plays like we saw last night.

One interesting thing about this play is that DeRozen fouled Suggs elbow using his face.
A foul is a foul after all.

I don't think so (unless the star favoritism kicks in) DeRozan was clearly moving, so any non-ball contact would be on him - short of Suggs' flat-out punching him.

Plus, Suggs' arm is not extended; there is no push off here.

Really it shows how high Suggs was as his elbow was at the head line of DeRozan.

No need to get pissy. It's not "we like Suggs" /"you hate him" :noway: No question there's contact and it clearly wasn't fun for DD, but my interpretation is that it was initiated (if not "caused") by DeRozan sliding by Suggs and half-ass contesting the drive. Don't these things typically go against the defender if his feet were clearly moving, leading to the contact? It's not like Suggs wound up and lunged for him...I'm not saying there's no case to be made for an offensive foul but it's not enough, IMO...or the refs, I guess.

I saw a foul. And I saw Suggs' elbow crash in to DeRozen's face. But as he was moving up, to the side and inside the restricted area, by rule DeRozen's face fouled Suggs' elbow. We can argue if that is fair or the intent of a foul rule.

But a foul is a foul.
