I get the "we don't need any more young players" BS. "Can't win with young players" etc..
So on that note, Chicago, which is battling for the best record in the East, has used a good mix of veterans and this one rookie 2nd rd pick, AYO DOSUNMU. That is 2nd rd, not first rd.
DOSUNMU is shooting 53% and 52% from FG and 3FG in his last 10 while shooting 54+ and 43% for the entire year at about 20 min per.
As I said during the draft, you can always find good talent *IF* you can scout well enough. Remember D Bane at 30 last year?? Brandon Boston this year at the end of RD2??
Not that anyone of those 3 were to be guaranteed to play well here with our team's philosophies on coaching/developing them, But I don't want to hear that young players CAN NOT make a major impact to winning ever again. With that mindset (like Boston's) It certainly won't happen.. and Now look at what season we have had and are having.
agreed. But I like Begarin too. And if we had drafted Ayo instead, or anyone else tbh, like you said, they wouldn’t play because it’s just not in Imes vocabulary. This is why I hated the Kyrie trade knowing we could have drafted SGA, Bridges, MPJ or Simons to give us a young big three. Also hated trading away the #30 pick too. It’s not like we had world beaters on our deep bench. I think most of our awful moves have been to set something up for a future trade that might never come
