I'm onboard with this trade. Collins is a legit no. 3 option. Hell, he was the no. 2 option on a team that went to game 7 of the ECF last yr. Collins fits the timeline with tatum/brown/rob perfectly. Collins is tough, physical, he's big and he can shoot.

Collins and Bogdanovic are both good shooters.

Your new rotation post-trade seems off, though. Richardson is not a PG. If we do this, Schroder is the starting PG (as he has been all season for us when Smart has been out) and Pritchard backs up Schroder. Bogdanovic and Richardson give us 2 really good wings coming off the bench, which means Nesmith is out of the rotation..

All in all, I like it. But as others have said, not sure ATL would do it.

ok well i'm just going off the trade proposal that you posted. in it, smart gets traded but schroder does not.

if schroder is traded in a separate deal, well then what is that other deal? who are we getting? who else are we moving? we would need answers to those questions to determine what the post-deadline rotation may look like. but simply posting the hawks trade (which doesn't include schroder), posting no other trade that does involve schroder, yet leaving schroder out of your post-deadline celtics rotations seems weird.

Schroder for capspace and picks(2nds)

Pg either comes organically or offseason deal or maybe even tpe.

Richardson/pritchard/yam might be perfect too but I feel that PG is now the deepest position in the nba

I'm pretty sure Smart's 2 most famous outbursts both came immediately after 4th quarter Tatum takeovers. I always thought Jaylen jumped in the middle of the first one taking up for JT, and the second, I think Marcus skipped a step by calling out both.

Marcus has a very fiery personality, but much like with coaches, it can reach a point where it isn't motivational anymore, simply annoying.

Something is wrong with our locker room, its probably not Smarts fault, but we could be to a point where moving him is part of the cure.

If thats the case, it sux, but may be where we are heading.

Can say for an absolute fact that Tatum and Smart are pretty close, at least for nba teammate standards. JB/Smart have butted heads and almost thrown hands multiple times, but it’s apparently in a big/little brother way.

I’m sure they get frustrated with Smart, but nothing serious.

smh. two starts this season with depleted roster and no Tatum. Went 24-6-8 in one of them. Too funny. Also has a win as a starter his rookie season.

the lack of confidence or even hate by some for PP is Foolish. He does Well in those very rare opportunities he gets when he gets a real chance. And his nonball dominant style would fit in Seemlessly with the jays.

He's a good backup but in 2 years of starts, we've won one time.

He's a big defensive liability guys. We're not winning **** with him starting

I am too lazy to look plus at a game but how many of those starts were with a full roster versus a depleted roster

He's clearly down from his 2019-2020 peak season where he was a positive player. This year, he is a negative impact overall, and neutral at the absolute best. His win share numbers are near his career averages, but weaker than the last few seasons. He also has the worst OBPM of his career, and a negative overall BPM. VOPR is 5th worst out of his 8 seasons. I don't buy that he's a positive offensive player because of his +/-. Advanced metrics say otherwise.

Meanwhile, Rob this season has incredible advanced metrics, and is without question the third best player on the team, and is impacting the defense just as good as smart this year.

It's best to get some shooting in return for Smart before he continues to decline.

It really comes down to if you prefer those to RAPTOR, RPM, etc.

2019-2020 was without question his best season, imo. Both in terms of eye test, and numbers.

His lesser role contributed to that, imo. And FWIW, him being asked to do too much this year definitely hurts those impact numbers a bit.

Here’s where nba execs rank them.

VORP isn’t ranked, WS/48 is 11th, BPM is 6th.

RAPM is 5th, RAPTOR is 4th, LEBRON is 3rd. Smart also ranks highly in EPM (the spot after Lonzo) and DPM, which are the top 2.

Advanced stats absolutely paint Smart as a very positive impact player. Now I think they could move him, but it’s not because he’s declining.
