The only one you could argue its better than him its KD, then no one else its close as a 1vs1 scorer.

We really have a top 5 player in the NBA and the best two player in the league. Hope we can finally put together a good roster around him who fits and play to his strenghts. I dont think he can sustain this level of play for more than 3 seasons, and there is always a pretty high injury risk with Biid.

Next offseason at the latest we have to go ALL IN and try to win NOW.

Everyone always says his career will be short, but one can argue that he can have a very long great career because he is such a good shooter

Yep, was being held back by Simmons, you can see how he has unlocked another gear now that Simmons is not in his way playing 4 vs 5 offense.

Is there anyone better than this guy? How can anyone dislike him?

No doubt. He really is a throwback in the way he relishes competition and challenges, and in his loyalty to the team and city that drafted him. We are incredibly fortunate to be able to watch an all time great's entire career night in and night out.

It’s very hard to true double team embiid these days. He’s doing a lot less iso back the defender down that takes 10-12 seconds off the shot clock. He makes his move within 2 seconds now. Creates a ton of pressure on the defense.

But come playoff time. Teams will blitz embiid even when he’s 15 feet from the basket just to get the ball out of his hands. Just pray Danny green is still healthy with Seth curry. I think curry green Harris maxey embiid is good enough to close out games. Substitute thybulle for defensive only sequence for curry.

If his teammates make them pay than no team can afford to blitz all game long.

Just like a zone killer lineup for blitz you go with.

I know most people think Green is cooked, but just in one game he showed how important his quick trigger high volume shooting is for Embiid. He may be getting to the point where his defense isn't impactful but his offense is absolutely critical. I think we should seriously load manage him to nurse him to the playoffs because his legs looked fresh after two weeks off. It's scary to be this reliant on a old guy but we need him healthy and with fresh legs for a deep run.

If you can tolerate Bill Simmons and ignore his repeated potshots at the Sixers throughout the video, there’s some really good lines in this one.

You think? I thought it was terrible. Was Bill Simmons ever a good writer?

To each their own. I personally loved reading Bill since back in the Page 2 days. Sure, he got stale but I always enjoy his takes, even if I flat out disagree with them.

It was a genuine question. I listened to the BS report and occasionally listen to his current pod, but I've never read anything he's written. He's always been a podcaster in my mind.

He was a really entertaining writer back in the Sports Guy days.

You might like The Book of Basketball. Simmons has his detractors for sure, but as someone who loves both pop culture and sports, he was one of the first to really blend the two into his writing. I always enjoyed the draft day diary and trade value columns. And there’s the ones he did on Iverson and Embiid.

If you like these articles, you’ll love the book. If you don’t, avoid the book.

It’s funny you said that, because he was my favorite sports writer by far. And then he became a podcaster and the articles stopped coming (used to come out like clockwork, two or three times a week including a big one on Friday afternoons).

Being Deaf myself, the rise of the podcast era made his content totally inaccessible for me from that point on. I always wished he would get back into writing articles again.

Sneakiest homer I know of, and being a Celtic homer, he always sets off my Philly born genetic defensive mechanism into high gear. But he has been a reliable, unabashed Embiid fan the whole time. The two things he left out that I think deserve to be mentioned is) 1. Hinkie defended and supported Jo when he was being mercilessly attacked, right after his brother died back home, and had the urge to leave it all. Plus managed the multi-disciplinary surgical/recovery program that allowed the big guy to fully recover from that all important, little navicular vulnerability. ) 2. JImmy would have stayed, if not for Brett. And full seasons of Jimmy would have been enough for the currently developed Embiid to title.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but Jo's running gait is back. The one he had a long time ago. Not sure if he had it during his rookie year, but I definitely remember it in Kansas.

This dude is an absolute gift for a fan.

Despite a series of incompetent FOs we still have sustained success solely due to Embiid.
