Lakers @ Nets - 1/25 730pm EST

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:22 pm

"With so much drama in the LBC, it's kinda hard being Snoop D-O-double-G..."

I think that the narrative surrounding these Brooklyn Nets has been a heavy toll for fans lately. Harden's impending FA went into media overdrive yesterday (fake news, but it touched on some real behind the scenes tension). Kyrie is no closer to being a full participant. Kevin and Joe are out until at least the All Star Break. Millsap has asked for a trade, possibly the first waterdrop of internal pressure.

Also, the on-court has been listless, to say the least. Perhaps the aforementioned drama is affecting the team? Maybe it's just the doldrums of the season, who knows. One thing is for certain: we need all hands on deck tonight.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be basically full strength for the first time in months, as Anthony Davis returns. They are quite a media maelstrom as well, with head coach Frank Vogel's job under threat, and 3rd wheel Russell Westbrook being shopped around the league. 2 desperate teams with flickering title hopes, meeting at an inflection point in both of their seasons. It's not the heavyweight bout that NBA schedulers had hoped, but it'll be a knock down drag out affair regardless.

If you are a tea leaf reader on social media, it sounds like Nic Claxton will return tonight. Or he's being traded. Or he's just asking for world peace, and it has nothing to do with tonight! I'll take door #1, and we'll need his length and athleticism. Bembry seems healthy again, and Bruce might need his minutes scaled back a bit until he rediscovers his groove.

Let's give it our all, and sing for the moment! Go Nets!
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

I think this is going to be bad loss.

The only bright side is it might finally get Nash fired.

Nash leaving is a start. Still need Ky to play FULL TIME which is the most important thing.

At this point, I’d be on board with replacing Nash but who takes the job? I don’t want no Kyrie influencing **** since he’s been away.

I don't know how anyone is excited about this game, or this team after the terrible news that came out today.

I really just have a disdain for Kyrie Irving right now. The team spent a ton of capital to get Harden and HE is f*cking it up along with dumb ass Nash.

Marks needs to be fired over hiring Nash.

Lakers arent great, even with AD.

That said we are short handed and have nash and the worst home crowd in pro sports.

i think we lose, but not a blow out. lakers have alot of the issues we have in that they struggle effort wise and often get run by scrappy role players

I think today's news is going to be a detriment for the team and we are going to be unfocused and blown out.

Time to face facts: We're going to have to trade for Ben Simmons. If Morey flips both Harris and Simmons to the Kings, we are on borrowed time.

There was no "news" today. The only insight we got is that James Harden "speaks his mind and wont hold back with how he feels". We learned nothing else. Fischer claims nothing else.

that article is pretty common. right something speculative before a big national game with a click bait headline that TNT will talk about and then if you get called on it you just say "did you read the article, i never said james [insert whatever]"

There is no need to trade for simmons. our best chance to win a title is this year. Keep harden are see what happens in the offseason. Kyrie/KD is still a great core for the next few years. And who knows, not paying harden 50 million 6 years from now may be a good thing.

Nash basically called Fischers article BS:

“I just heard about these reports and I haven’t spoken to him about any of these things. I’m not sure what to believe. James and I speak all the time and have a great relationship, so I’m not sure the validity of these comments, to be honest.
“We talk about the rotations; that comment seems very strange. We have different guys available pretty much every other night. I don’t see James saying a lot of this stuff and I feel like our relationship has been very good. We’ve worked through a lot of things together this year.”

Do you expect Nash to really come out and admit that ****? Dwight Howard tried to lie about getting SVG fired years ago and SVG exposed it.

Nash being diplomatic is why. But I hope we come out strong tonight and win.

Winning will cure everything. Imagine if we win 7-8 games out of next 10.

Won't change damn thing. Main issue is Kyrie, vaccination is only excuse to be absent. Harden knows that better now. He's gone.

I hope somehow we end up with Ben. Otherwise it's going to be disaster.

How did guys miss that many shots under the basket?

Harden with 15pts already, but what happens once he sits? Nash is going to play him 45 mins.

That is not the kind of half-speak you make when its true. when its true you get "You'd have to ask james, i cant speak to whats in his head"

When its true, you dont come out and admit it.... but you dont also completely deny it and call it BS. when its true you deflect, you dont outright call it nonsense

Nash isnt being diplomatic here. he is calling it BS. I'd have been worried with a diplomatic/political deflection.

And i mean, it makes sense. Nash is a whore for the stars. that is why he is here. of course harden would call the shots on lineups if he wanted a change. its why nash is here and kenny is gone

It's sad seeing Harden or Mills out there with a bunch of non shooters.

Kyrie **** this team up. Losing streak coming. I donot see many winnable games for the next 10 and this would be a final nail in the coffin.

1/25 vs LAL L
1/26 vs DEN (back to back) L
1/30 at GSW L
2/1 at PHX L
2/2 at SAC (back to back) L
2/4 at UTA W
2/6 at DEN W
2/8 vs BOS L
2/10 at WAS W
2/12 at MIA L

Welp, Lakers up by 13, I think this is gonna get ugly. Only the Nets will miss two stars and not make a game respectable.
