I know Ingles is playing poorly, but maybe we could swing something like:
RoCo + 2022 SRP for Ingles + 2024 LP FRP
I dont think the gulf b/t RoCo and Joe is a FRP so think we would have to include our SRP, which I would have no issue w/.

Your right, his numbers are down. Maybe he got old?
Hard to tell, dude's always looked like he's pushing 45.

Ingles for Roco makes little sense for the Blazers... both are expiring, it doesn't get Portland under the tax, and RoCo is probably a better fit with Portland. This is wishful thinking by the Jazz.

Hence the first-round pick added on their end. If they can pry a 1st away from the Jazz for a player the Blazers aren't going to resign anyway, why not? You'll actually get something for a player you're just going to let walk at the end of the season anyhow... you take that deal every day if it's there (well, and assuming there's nothing else on the table).

ROCO: One of the better defenders in the league right now and our starting PF... for Ingles: 1st-team All-YMCA. I fail to see how this idea helps us, or the need to move ROCO at all honestly. Furthermore, he reminds me of Crash, and would consider trying to keep him beyond this year, depending on what other IMPROVEMENTS are made to the roster.

Re: Blazer Rumors Roundup 2022
Ingles in likely washed at 34.
I do wonder if ultimately it will be Powell that gets dealt unless Portland is willing to accept an
underwhelming return for CJ who is playing well. Nurk/Roco are also playing well and Portland's
rotation seems sound for Nurk/Simons have a sound P&R game with CJ playing the sniper on the
wing. Powell might settle in as the other shooter on the wing with Portland's bench actually
contributing with Little, McLemore, DSJ, Eleby, Watford giving the team some minutes. If no
trade is made, Portland needs LNJ back for they are very thin up front.

Feels like there would be a deal like this for Roco where we take back 3-4 million less which would squeak us right under the line. For Example: Boston's 2022 1st + TPE for Roco

Agreed. I wish the Celtics were a bit better, they might be a bit more motivated to make a deal. Utah fans don’t think they would move a first for RoCo, but who knows. Asking fans what their teams might do is seriously the biggest waste of time ever, no fan wants to see their team give up anything close to fair value, so talking to fans is pointless. What actually front offices are willing to do pretty rarely lines up with what fans think

Re: Blazer Rumors Roundup 2022
One thing to keep an eye on is they announced Zeller is going to be out 6-8 weeks and any Nurk trade
is not likely to happen for that would leave them with no player taller than 6-8 on the roster. Portland
might have to bring someone in, either to finish the season or in case they still trade Nurk.

We cant pay RoCo, Simons and Nurk. Ingles has regressed with age, but if we can get a pick its a deal well worth it.
Also calling Ingles All-YMCA is BS. He has had a better career than RoCo. Also would be a good locker room guy for the youngsters and can play SF. Assuming Little breaks out as a true 30mpg starter a rotation of Little 30mpg and Ingles 18mpg (Resigned for cheap) would be really nice IMO.

Can't imagine they'd want another injury prone guy like Nance back, but I could see them really wanting RoCo. Would be annoying to lose RoCo just to get the Blazers own pick back, but I'd do it if they could.
That said, the Bulls may really want to keep that pick... it's not out of the question the Blazers squeak into the playoffs, then the pick would be in that 15-18 range, which is the best they could possibly hope for out of that pick since it's fully lottery-protected forever. So they might actually value that pick quite a bit. Hard to tell.

You only move RoCo for Ingles if you get a 1st rounder back out of it from the Jazz. If they - as their fans claim - are not willing to do that, then there's no deal there to be made. RoCo is considerably better than whatever is left of Ingles (regardless of the BS advanced stats Jazz fans tried spewing for why they aren't that much different lol), so yeah, that's not a smart trade for Portland without some half-way decent added incentives.
RoCo is definitely a guy who can put a team who's right there in the hunt for things, potentially over the top to win a ring. So I genuinely think some contender will trade their late 1st rounder for him before the deadline in hopes of boosting their championship chances.

With Zeller going down, would Portland with an open roster spot consider signing old friend Meyers Leonard to replace him? He's currently a free agent after getting released for making a homophobic remark.

He made an anti-Semitic remark live on twitch, not a homophobic one, and he's not talented enough of a player to sign on IMO.

Some things are better left in the past... Meyers Leonard is one of those things.

Joe Harris & Nic Claxton for RoCo & Nance? You can take Millsap too, but I don't think that gets you under the tax. Normally I wouldn't think the Nets would consider something like this as Harris and Claxton fill clear defined roles, but given Harris's setback during rehab I think the Nets will be more active looking for healthy bodies that can contribute ASAP.
I think Harris fits very well assuming you can dump CJ.

I would need to research Harris’ injury more before I can really have a good opinion on that. Worries me when Nets fans are looking to move him, makes me think the injury could be bad cause I thought you guys were high on him.
Just gut feeling, I would pass, I want a FRP in return for him so the blazers have more trade flexibility this summer

He had arthroscopic surgery on his ankle to remove a bone particle. He was expected to be out 4-8 weeks. He's experienced "flare-ups" during his rehab and is getting a second opinion. He's now expected to be out until after the all-star game. The surgery was minor. The concern would be if they need to go back in for some reason and he's out for a few more months. The Nets are shorthanded and can't afford to not have him or his salary be in anything but rust free and peak playoff ready by the time the playoffs role around.

Very likely Portland is looking around for a big as we speak. Meyers also has a shoulder injury in addition to the offcourt stuff. Too bad LA is not a free agent
Return to Portland Trail Blazers
