Part of me wonders whether part of it is his agent putting pressure on Marks & Tsai to commit to giving him the full 5 year max. "Hey, taxes are so much more in NYC than Texas, we can't settle for less than the full Bird max. We wouldn't even take the same 4 year, 5% raise max another team can offer.

Watching Kyrie vs Harden fans go at it is hilarious
Well if we being 100 here it was obvious month or two ago. Only solution is to get rid of Kyrie here or get Ben for James. Anything else would be disaster.

Great for putting amazing stats, but as we've seen with Westbrook stats alone don't tell the whole story when it comes to WINNING.
Ultimately I think he'll resign because of KD though.
So losing MVP caliber player ain't no biggie huh. Got you

Money has nothing to do with what was obvious for two months now. Matter of fact guy straight up said " get flat earth creature to commit 100 percent or I'm out once he didn't sign contract ". You add the fact that Steve Trash is moron as a head coach... if KD won't make flat earth Dunning Kruger get vaccinated it's over. Make no mistake, NY laws will not change, that tool has someone else pulling string. He's to dumb to be mayor.
Spoiler alert here -> Marks/Tsai won't resign flat earth creature if he won't get vaccinated. You can take to bank right now.
Well we be watching James, Dame and Biid getting chips for few years now. D'Antoni will be running show.

I'm not going to be cheering for Philphy to win, just be glad that James will get few rings, great player, wonderful human being.

Headline:Harden hates living in brooklyn, pissed at Nash, Frustrated at Kyrie, wants out
Article:Actually, im NOT actually saying anything in the headline, but a source did tell me "James isnt going to hold back, he will tell you were he stands" but let me be clear, im not saying harden asked out and i have 0 sources that have told me he is frustated with Nash,Kyrie, or living in brooklyn

Nets fans building up a hate for James to make an excuse for the FO putting a roster of non shooters, meh defenders and no rebounding is so wild. If they fix the roster Harden + fit already proven to work here and for multiple seasons. It would even help when the Big 3 are together. A more two way supporting cast and not having to stagger with no shooters.

Re: James Harden is still an MVP (Hi Haters!)
As I said, people need to stop buying into the tabloid click bait nonsense.
KD has said it to the media and on his podcast. Harden has said it on twitter and to media pre/post game. Kyrie has said it on instagram and to the media in pre/post game. same with Nash. These 3 are super tight. they know together they are unstoppable. They want everyone healthy and together and im sure its tough to have to wait but they arent sweating these losses. They know full voltron in the playoffs is coming. Harden and Kyrie both said that after the portland loss. They are optomistic, they know whats coming.
But I mean, like... stop hanging on a click-bait headline from an article that instantly backtracks the title and none of the sources saying anything close to the title. I mean, ... Woj:
Like take it from real insiders and take it directly from the players mouths...
There is a reason KD doesnt give the media awnsers and uses his podcast to get the real message out in his own words.
There is a reason Kyrie doesnt give the media anything and users instagram live to get his stuff out unedited from his own mouth
There is a reason Harden pops off on twitter instead of giving the media anything
I mean i get its frustrating for fans, but like... believe the words coming directly from the stars, who have never been shy to say how they feel. from the ONLY actual quote from a source in that click bait trash "Harden isnt going to hold back, he is going to tell you were he stands"
So if you are going to actually believe the source in the Bleacher report click bait, then you should believe harden.

He hasn't played at MVP level for a while now.
I would like to keep Harden, but if we can workout a sign and trade for picks/good players it's not the end of the world.
I feel like we are a better offensive team when the ball is moving which does not happen when Harden is the maestro holding the ball for 20 secs every possesion. Don't get me wrong he's GREAT at what he does, but I feel like we are harder to beat when we move the ball and are unpredictable. Not to mention bad defense and a lot of turnovers is not the hallmark of championship level teams.
Granted, he's had to carry a lot this season due to Kyrie + other injuries, but if we can get back good rotation players that fill a void + picks we're straight in my eyes.
Would be sad not to see the big 3 actually play together though. Seems like something always gets in the way

Were better when he have both looks. Which was why it was infuriating Nash had him play so many minutes and cost us last playoffs.Claud wrote:GTR11 wrote:Claud wrote:Meh.

I don't hate James. If he wants out, I absolutely think he has a right to want out of here. This is a joke. Nash is a horrible coach, the roster has serious issues, and Kyrie is not all in on winning. If I were him, I'd rather go play with Joel Embiid who is playing MVP ball.

Simmons / Maxey and a first or two could help with the pain.

I don't understand how we arrive at colossal failure:
Year 1: #2 in east, Overtime Game 7 of round 2 despite no Kyrie/Harden losing to eventual champs.
Year 2: #4 in east, 2 games out of 1st, one of the favorites to win title if going into the playoffs semi healthy
If we lose Harden, we will get back better compensation then we gave up to get him. We will get younger, We will get more affordable, and we remove the risk that we are paying Harden 55-60 million at ages 37-39. People complain about his play right now when is dropping 23/10/80 on 59 TS%. What do you think you will be saying when he is posting 20/7/7 on 56 TS, looking heavy and being owed 2/110 at age 37?
This is nowhere near a failure. We knew when we formed the big three we probably had a 3 year window as title favorites and from there it would be rocky. that is still pretty much the case. The way i see it, if we win a title is a success no matter what comes next. if we dont win a title, a change is probably good to help us try and win next year and removing some down the road risk.
the worst i see happening is a disappointment we contended but never got the ring. i see no avenues to a colossal failure unless we lose harden for nothing and Kyrie retires, which is near impossible

I think Philly has a bigger issue since it looks like GMs are accusing them of tampering with Harden (Morey was sloppy with Fischer). Marks has no concerns on Harden leaving. Harden says the rumors are BS. I'm sure he has a lot of friends.
Philly really has no choice but to do a sign and trade and to do so would need to send back alot of salary. at a minimum Simmons and 2 more guys making 6-8 million. Picks and someone like Maxey or Thybule is a lock. If he refuses he would need to pay twice that to dump all that salary and his ability to do that goes away if orlando or spurs sign a free agent with their cap instead of facilitating a Harden deal.
Things are really set up in our favor for a win-win with Harden.
1) He wont be traded this year, so we get another run at a title with him.
2) Philly cant outright sign him and its alot cheaper (asset wise) for them to do a sign and trade with us
3) They would be willing to give up a 25 year old all-nba defender locked up on a reasonable deal for 3 years
4) we would remove the risk of paying a 36-39 year old harden 55 million a year
5) We would have a ton of assets to turn Simmons into a better fit if we wanted
I mean, If the mandate ends before the playoffs, it will be the happiest and excited ive been as a nets fan... ever. including the Kidd Finals and the day we traded for Harden.
We are in a great spot. 3 weeks of .500 basketball doesnt change that

Haynes & Goodwill were discussing it. Goodwill is the one that brought up collusion, basically stating that he believe the Nets & 76ers have already had offseason S&T discussions. That would implicate both teams it would be argued that other teams have been locked out of the Ben Simmons trade & James Harden FA markets because of it. Marks probably has more plausible deniability in that he can state that any trade discussions was intended for the deadline. If anybody in the 76ers organization has talked contract with Harden directly or through an intermediary, then they can be in big trouble.
I think they're both just speculating, but if Goodwill is accurate, I'd be happy. He stated that he believes that the Nets have an offer in hand that matches more or less exactly what I've been saying our price would be: Simmons+Maxey+mix of filler & picks.

Unless we win a title, or maybe lose in the finals, you make that move.
We win a title, and KD says run it back, you are running it back. period. Outside of that thought? Hell yeah you make that deal. If you're telling me we trade for Simmons now, and punt on a second shot at the big3 for a title thats terrible. but in the offseason, after going 0-2 with the big 3, you move on.
Harden has been durable historically, but ages 33-38 he is less likely to look like lebron or tom brady. ESPECIALLY with Nash running him into the ground. With KD 34-38 over his extension its a GREAT hedge to bring in a 25 year old Simmons (or expand it and make it John Collins) .
Simmons + Maxey or Thybule + Picks is a homerun for me.
I know people are down on the team right now, and for some good reason. but specifically with regards to Harden's future I think it is a win-win. And I think With Kyrie and Durant you can do things with Simmons here you couldnt in Philly... like make him a point-center surrounded by 4 shooters.
Kyrie | Mils | Harris | KD | Simmons
Maxey | Bembry | Thomas | Johnson | Claxton
thats a team id be happy with next year for sure.
I took a look into historically what stars look like past 34-35. even recently its not good. and ive looked at history of guys 30 and over on 5 years deals at 40M plus. again its not good and usually looks bad by year 2 or 3. IF we won a title you bring harden back. of course live with whatever we got a ring. short of that this deal makes more sense
I also took a look at philly being able to clear room to sign Harden. And there is 0 reason to worry unless they trade Harris for expirings at the deadline (baically throwing this year away). if they dont do that, there is almost 0 chance they can clear the cap... or at least not for less then just trading with us

thats a team id be happy with next year for sure.
And there is 0 reason to worry unless they trade Harris for expirings at the deadline (baically throwing this year away). if they dont do that, there is almost 0 chance they can clear the cap... or at least not for less then just trading with us
I'm not the biggest Simmons fan, and am especially concerned about his durability, but I like the idea of an age progression similar to what the Spurs had going from Robinson->Duncan->Parker->Kawhi where as one alpha tails off at the end of his career there's a guy to take over. I expect that handoff to happen from KD to Kyrie in a couple years. It would be amazing to have the next guy on the roster already.

If we can get Simmons and Maxey plus picks, we absolutely have to do it.

Imagine the drama Kyrie and Simmons generate lol. If we get Simmons, we need to flip him for someone who can shoot.
