Beal is the biggest disappointment in the league this year. He's been trash for the most part. No Wiz fan is going to miss him the way he's played this season. Idk wtf happened to him but no Wiz fan wants to supermax him now

he fell off a cliff this season. hes averaging EIGHT less points per game on way lower efficiency to boot. cant blame him knowing it was going to be another losing season, but disappointing since the rest of the team overperformed to start the year and he wasnt a part of it. he probably couldve carried them from there to the playoffs or more

hes done enough the last few years that I wouldnt think twice about paying him. feels like he will walk this summer, but that supermax is a lot of money to turn down. seems unlikely he'll request a trade before the deadline though

theres so many damn elite players potentially up for grabs right now. Beal, Simmons, Kyrie. even Harden & Kawhi have rumours about their future with their current teams

At this point you gotta think that they would consider the Simmons swap. Like it’s gotta be a little closer to realistic

I respect him and Dame's loyalty but c'mon man, if Karl Malone can join the Lakers or MJ join the Wizards or Olajuwon can go to the Raptors... It's time to leave the market that drafted you, you've did everything possible there... Time to move on before the career is over.

Supermax is irrelevant for Beal. He'll have 10 years experience come the offseason, at which point any team in the league can offer him a 35% max deal. He'll be able to get slightly bigger raises and an extra year from resigning (either with Washington or another team that he's traded to). The extra year could be important as he's likely to be overpaid on his next deal (especially if he's really getting the full 35% max) so longer is better for him.

All of those you've mentioned has had real success with their teams. I respect loyalty but serously Wiz fans will it even hurt if Beal leaves? I'd seriously not care all that much if he does. They've literally had 0 notable achievements with Beal. It's basically Washingtons Melo. They should get a good package for him and bet on the younger prospects developing into good players. Without Beal being there the pressure to pass him the ball is relieved. Maybe we'll see guys like Deni and Rui take that next step.

I'd do a Simmons for Beal in a heartbeat.

Wizards just need to find a way to turn a few good players into a better piece

Gafford/Bryant
Rui/Harrell
???/Deni
Beal/KCP
??? /Neto/Holiday

Dinwiddie, Kuzma, Bertans or Harrell, Kispert or Deni should all be on the block for a significant upgrade at PG or SF.

I've always thought he was overrated relative to hype. If we wants to win, it'll be with another team. Sadly Washington has no clue how to build around him, or in general IMO. They're in need of a tear down.

Even if it’s a 3 teamer I think this could be the start to a Simmons trade materializing. Whether it’s Ben to a third team for whatever or a swap

If Beal really wants to win he could've not extend and sign elsewhere.

It is what it is, there are players who are just happy to be in the league and not be worried for winning.

Honestly I'd rather have Ben tbh. I just think Beals production is easily replaceable compared to other "stars".Whatever happens Beal won't be winning anything in Washington, regardless if he likes the team being built around him.

If Beal wanted to win he could become a better player.

It really shows how much of a joke volume scoring can be though when that's the only thing you do at a starter level. Beal has never sniffed the playoffs as the best player on his team - when we made that big run last year it was Westbrook giving us 30 games of his OKC play that moved the needle.

I mean only Detroit, San Antonio, and Okc will have cap space

those raises + last year are a huge chunk of change. could be the difference in him deciding to stay if its a close decision

I actually think he fits better with Joel than anywhere else in the league. Joel maximized JJ and Seth curry, fits really well with guys who move well off the ball and Beal would be that on steroids

he is far beyond a "volume scorer". scoring 30 on 60%TS is no easy feat (with 5 assists/boards). he can also play defence when he wants to. I always thought he had a similar game/impact to Paul George and similarly has had great playoff runs
