Man, the potential with Kuminga is incredible. I know there have been some concerns about his work ethic and attitude but the kid is only 19. That's only a year removed from senior prom! Some more quality time with Iguodala should help him figure out how to approach the game and deal with NBA life.

Yep he just needs to hit enough to command some level of respect. 35% would be amazing and he's almost there. It's all about opening up lanes for what he's already elite at - finishing near the basket.

If JK recent 3pt stroke sticks that's amazingly fast development.
Pretty much just needs experience/focus on off-ball defense and he's a playoff rotation guy potentially year 1, which is crazy.

Are people still saying we shoulda drafted **** Franz over this dude? Franz is freaking capped out, he's probably going to have a Junior Dunleavy type career. Kuminga is already looking like a mini Giannis with a better jimmy.

Nobody at 20 years old in their first year of playing at the highest level is ‘capped out’, that's just silly to assert. I'm happy we drafted Kuminga because of what he's shown but let's not make outlandish claims to prop our player up.

He's 40%+ in December and in January. Something like 18 out of his last 41.and1GS wrote:Yep he just needs to hit enough to command some level of respect. 35% would be amazing and he's almost there. It's all about opening up lanes for what he's already elite at - finishing near the basket.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

Kuminga is hitting wide open 3s. That's better than not hitting them. But you can see that defenses don't respect his shot at all (yet).

MCW, Tyreke Evans, and a bunch of other rooks who played for trash tanking teams disagree. It's easy to put up numbers when there is absolutely nothing at stake.

He's also improved his FT shooting, which is important for his style of play. After a rough start converting only 56% in 2021, he's up to 76% in 2022, bringing his season average to 66%.

Tyreke played his best basketball long after the Kings.
The word you are looking for is ‘bust’… MCW was a bust, despite winning ROY in a depleted field. If you remain who you are when drafted, you’re 99.99% likely to be a bust, unless you come into the game dominant, which rarely happens
Franz can absolutely improve, selling that short halfway through his rookie season is a massive reach. As is calling him Dunleavy, who was eaten alive by the moment and never reached what he could have been

I don’t know that I want Iguodala teaching him much. Iguodala is such a freak that you can’t really emulate him, you don’t want Kuminga reaching like he does. Learn from Dray, the positional guy who has to play bigger than his height, because Kuminga will have that same hurdle to clear, IMO
Especially dont want Iguodala around while Kuminga gains his shooting stroke

I love the Kuminga pick. However, I didn't know in-depth about Franz Wagner but I did watch a full game recently focusing on him. He is definitely *not* Dunleavy! I was impressed by Franz.

Iguodala the stripper can never be duplicated. Otherwise you will rack up reach-in fouls like Steph.

Kerr: "as long as Draymond is out, I think anything is on the table based on matchups. I think JK has played really well, so it’s not an indictment on him. It’s more just trying to find combinations that make sense for the game. We are just trying to find ways to win basically while we have guys out."

The rumblings have been about Kuminga not always displaying the best work ethic, thus my specific point was about having Iguodala help him figure how to approach the game and deal with NBA life. I didn't mention anything about teaching him how to shoot; I'm guessing Steph, Klay and Kerr might be better mentors in that area.

So you taking Franz over Kuminga in a redraft?

I didn't read what you said tbh. I'm just sick of people saying that the dubs shoulda drafted **** Franz.

What's with the Dunleavy hate. If a team picking 8th gets a guy to have a Dunleavy career, then that is a huge win.

1 good season as a starter in his career where the team won 36 games, the rest as a backup/fringe starter where he was just average at best. That’s a huge win? Seems neutral at best unless it’s in a historically weak class
