Absolutely yes. He will struggle to win in the playoffs without another floor raiser and his mentality will be questioned, but yes he's already that good imo. He needs another superstar if he wants to go far in the playoffs, and not a declining one.

Personally, I think yes, but it really depends on your definition of a superstar. Look at how he performed in the playoffs last year, albeit on a short sample size. He's picking up where he left off.

To me, to reach that super status, one has to have the marketability and cultural impact of certain tier of players, i.e. Lebron, Curry, KD, Harden. And to enter that tier will require Ja to maintain his current level of play for a longer period of time, and also proving himself in the playoffs, as the playoffs is where players develop their greatness in today's NBA climate.

He definitely has the potential but will need more time and more winning.

The best Pg this year and I've been saying it for a while.

He is like a top 10 to 15 offensive player in the league right now. Make of that what you will.

Superstar u have to be elite probably top 5ish player + appeal/ almost a household name beyond basketball. Imo. Like national commercials + guest on late night/SNL going to events like the MET

Maybe my definition is very strict.
But there's only a handful of superstars in every sport. Where people who don't watch the sport but would know the name.

Right now i would say only LeBron curry KD Giannis are superstars. Borderline are harden embiid jokic luka.

Ja could be in the borderline group next year. Maybe Trae too

I think JA outside of basketball is becoming a household name like everyone knows him even really casual basketball fans and that's because of his highlights.

Basketball wise if he keeps this level of play up he will be a top 5 player pretty soon.

No the Grizzlies are peaking too early. Would we be talking about Morant if Kawhi and Murray were healthy? Or if Zion was in shape?

Unpopular opinion. CP3 i still the best pure "PG" in the league.

Scoring guards like Curry and Morant should have their own category.

I agree on CP3.

I'm not really so sure on Curry though. He creates this gravity that he gets assists from without anyone ever realizing it. There will be like 3 dudes guarding him to deter him from the ball, and leaves other dudes wide open for some easy, easy buckets.

Maybe he's not transcendent just yet, but then very few superstars reach the level of Jordan and Lebron.

On the right trajectory to being a super star. He’s playing at an all nba level, but will need to prove himself in the post season first.

I am actually a little worried about this. I really like how they've constructed that team and don't want them to fizzle too soon. Pace yourself, Ja. I want to see your team destroy the media darlings in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

Not even close. Giannis just now became a Superstar and he had to win a Championship and 2 Mvps

NBA Superstars are made in the playoffs. So no, not yet.

20 years?

2x MVP Nash? Kidd? CP3? If we're talking 20. Iverson?

Nice stat, but

1) It's 2022, scoring efficiency has increased league-wide since anyone on that list was in their prime.
2) In order to be a superstar you have to be a two-way player (Or be so damn good one one side of the ball, it doesn't matter, i.e. Curry... and NO Morant does not have the offensive impact that Curry has, don't care what arbitrary stats you pull out, watch the games.)
3) He hasn't won a single playoff series.

He is still a top 25 player though, and if he can become a more consistent 2-way player, superstar is possible.

I don't really consider them superstars. Just a notch below.
