never in my life have i underestimated a player like i did PJ this last off season.
Totally blown away by yids effectiveness.
was very worried about him being undersized, old and one dimensional.
He looks more energetic, tough, and more versatile then i could've imagine. Just wish he was 26 so we could've kept him here long term.
He is very one dimensional, probably the most one dimensional player in the league. He just t fits perfectly in spo system and he is ELITE at his one dimensional role

PJ is one dimensional? The most 1 D in the league? Had to reread to make sure you were talking about Tucker and not Duncan.

i agree, PJ is not one dimentional, he can shoot and defend at a very high level, he is not 7 feet tall but he maximizes everything he does.
Only small critique of last night: Knicks were eating us up on the boards. That didn't prove to be an issue against a team like the Knicks, but what about when we're facing teams like MIL or CLE in a playoff setting?

We will get demolished on the glass by not playing Yurt against tall elite teams.

It's not that simple IMO. That's low hanging fruit for fans that care more about the next Whiteside-mania/Linsanity than actually assessing how to gear up for playoff bball.
There will definitely have to be some optionality with our power rotation for the playoffs. Maybe Morris helps solve that. Maybe Yurt can be sufficiently integrated. Maybe it's a trade. IDK0

I would be shocked if Robinson is on the Heat past next season trading deadline. The Heat are going to have to pay Hero, Caleb, Struss & Yurt after the end of next season while adding to the Bam & Butler salary increases. Unless Arison is willing to pay ridiculous amounts of luxury tax, Duncan's gotta go. Out of the all big heat salaries, he's easily replaceable. You can retain Struss for half of what you pay Duncan, unless there's a team out there that is willing to overpay for Struss.
I don't think a deal happens this deadline but there doesn't seem to be interest in Duncan. But my guess he gets moved in the offseason
People still don't understand the importance of what Duncan's presence does for this team. Spo's only been stating it publicly all season as he continues his support even through the slump. He's currently having a fantastic stretch & people still want him gone
In 2023/2024 Duncan, Bam, Lowry & Butler will be combined to make 125 mil. In that summer you will need to pay Herro, Caleb, Struss, Omer and possibly Oladipo. I'm okay with keeping him this season and next but the money constraints is going to make it hard to keep everyone especially if you have to pay Herro. And Struss literally showed you can replace Duncan's production. It's an easy obvious choice to move Duncan before 23/24 so we can keep Herro and some of the other pieces.

Appreciate & understand the money situation. I'm not a cap/money guy...for the most part we've always managed to keep the players we've wanted to retain & make the money work. I trust the front office will make the right decisions here also. I believe Duncan is considered a key piece unless a situation where a whale is available for us to acquire, such as Mitchell Donovan, will we consider parting w/ Duncan. I do not believe we value Martin over him - that's crazy to me. People saying Duncan is replaceable but Martin isn't, even Gabe is crazy. I Believe Spo/coaching staff/Riles value Duncan more & in spite of what fans here may say. Time will tell tho.
He's currently having a fantastic stretch, I believe there's more to come. It was only a matter of time until he figures things out. This output will help us go deep in the playoffs as teams pressured to focus on Duncan leaving the floor spread.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here.U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade
