The thought that someone making millions will actually change his game plans and risk his money to "get back" at somebody seems really strange to me.
"Nobody gives a **** about Allen" seems much more likely.

I’m surprised to see so many on board with dealing Hill. We need to add ball handlers, not subtract. He’s been shooting poor but he’s still good defensively and a steady hand as a playmaker.

MKE: Kenrich Williams, Mike Muscala
OKC: Jordan Nwora, Semi Ojeleye, IND '25 2nd
DAL: Rodney Hood
Kenny Hustle becomes this year's PJ. He makes the right plays, does not back down to any defensive assignment, and is a capable enough shooter. Muscala fills Brook's shoes until playoff time.
OKC takes a flyer on Nwora and Presti nets a future pick.
DAL gets Hood for free after THJ's injury.
Holiday / Hill
Allen / DiVincenzo
Middleton / Connaughton / Matthews
Giannis / Williams
Portis / Muscala / (Lopez)

Yeah, might have to bid against other contenders. I feel like Nwora/2nd and salary savings is about right. I wouldn't hold back adding an extra 2nd or two if necessary though.

He started out fine but looks like he's getting older and slower as the season goes on. I'm okay keeping him on the roster, but if we need his salary to get a more impactful player, I'm not thinking twice.

He is still a dependable backup as far as backups go and he is a versatile defender. As long as Jrue is healthy, hill is perfectly fine.Matches Malone wrote:jakecronus8 wrote:I’m surprised to see so many on board with dealing Hill. We need to add ball handlers, not subtract. I get that +/- is an imperfect stat, but I can't believe we're still treating the player with the best net-rating in the entire league as trade ballast/miniscule salary-filler simply because we think he's "too old and slow". He's been the perfect back-up PG for us and I see zero reason to include him in these deals.

I also have a hard time seeing the Bucks trading Hill.
He's a great fit off the bench and we have him locked up on a very reasonable deal for next season too.
Not sure if there's a team who would value him as much as we do, and don't see an available upgrade that would be big enough where it'd warrant using Hill's contract just to make the numbers work.
If the Bucks think we can pick up a solid guard on the buyout market I imagine Donte is the one we're dangling in deals.

Would anybody be willing to post how many games each of our players have missed now? I think it may be relevant ammo for when the Bucks eclipse the other teams with the #1 seed while their fans blame injury.

I'm basing my comments off the trade proposals from the Nehm article, not because I think he's looking older and slower. Yes, he's been a good fit as the backup PG (never said he wasn't), I just think most of those guys in the article would be more impactful in a playoff performance for us, as I think Hill's role gets reduced with Giannis, Khris and Jrue dominating the ball more in the postseason. Not advocating we just jettison him off for the sake of it.

This team is better and deeper than last years team, while a lot of the other top teams seem to be in a similar to worse (older, less healthy as well) spot as last year.
Incredibly, if we get back Brook, we have less deficiencies and we know what works better when we have all of our pieces. Hold tight, wait for the buyout market and hope to add a physical banger or two. Don't see the need to move Hill unless we are saying we did it in the past and then we won a championship, so let's do it again.

I see no reason to trade hill. He seems to be of greater value to us in a position of need. And out performing his contract.
He isn't untouchable, though IMO. If we have a trade for a missing bigger piece, you pull the trigger. As Matches pointed out, how much will he play in the playoffs:
Bobby (30), Giannis (40), Midds (40), Jrue (40), Pat (20), Grayson (20), DDV (20)
Leaves 30 minutes for Brook, Wes, Hill if no injuries.
Only thing holding me back is we dont have a true back-up point guard

We've played 49 games:
Missed Games:
Giannis: 10
Bobby: 9
Midds: 12
Jrue: 13
DDV: 39
Brolo: 48
IDK, we got hit bad but honestly rather take our health over the Heat, Bulls, Nets, Lakers, 76ers (if you included egotism as a health issue) Giannis probably only should have missed 7-8 games but thinking he had a few off days in there.

Re: Bucks News, Transactions, Trade Ideas - Wigginton signed to two-way, Smart waived
Jake Fischer at bleacher report said some interesting things about the bucks in his latest trade rumor thing. I don’t keep up with who has reliable sources or not, and 95% of trade talk is fluff which is why it’s called rumors I guess, still something to talk about.
Semi is available(lol), teams have called about ddv and pat, bucks are interested in jalen smith, theis or any big man that can help. They also reached out about cedi.
None of that really excites me, and as low as I am on ddv, I wouldn’t involve him in any of those deals.

Jalen Smith would be pretty awesome. Wonder if he's become expendable for PHX with how good Biyombo's ((some of us wanted him 4 weeks ago....) filled in as their back-up 5. Although I'm guessing it would take more than Nwora/Semi/2nd rounder for them to bite. Maybe get a 3rd team involved.

Biyombo should give Chris Paul 30% of his checks.

It's the least surprising thing ever and was all but guaranteed to happen the moment he signed with the Bucks once again. Some people just can't wrap their heads around what he's contributing, and that was true the whole time he was with the Bucks in 2019 and 2020 as well.

Struggling a little more while filling in for Jrue was to be expected. He's not meant to start or play a lot of minutes anymore.
Even more important than ball-handling is his intelligence. I continue to believe that this is the main reason his advanced stats continue to sparkle despite what skeptics say about him. The Bucks desperately need more intelligent players, and just one guy who can sometimes help them get out of their own way on offense can make a bigger difference than he would on a team that doesn't need him as much.

This is more or less how I feel about Pat. If we can't bait bigs into posting him up, he's a problematic play with his lack of lateral movement skill.
