We know Kyrie is the GOAT when it comes to this but who do you think is 2nd behind him?

I dunno if I'd put him second but Kemba was up there in the convo with anyone. He could get space whenever and had some crazy good ankle breakers too

Chris Paul is the best ball handler in nba history by far.

You’re putting to much into flash, Paul is much better and more effective at creating a favourable position with his handles.

You’re just not capable of having a rational conversation so you need to project.

Kyrie has the highlights but CP3 has the results. Just look at his turnover economy
The Greatest of All Time debate in basketball is essentially who has the greatest basketball resume of the player who has the best highlights instead of who is the best player

IDK about that mate, Kyrie has that ball on a string.
CUrry is pretty close to him at times, but Irving is in a league all on his own.

Only 2 I put close to Irving for Handles all time is

Iverson

Simplier than Kyrie but its effectiveness cannot be ignored.

Nash

For someone not having the athleticism or the speed of Kyrie and iverson, Nash was able to get anywhere on the court (accept through Robert Horry) with IQ and simplicity

OP, saw you just joined a few months ago so there is a bit more context to handle.

There have been numerous discussions on this board regarding the "best" handles and first thing to do, is to define "best". Best in terms of the most flashy, reliable, creative, unguardable, or something else?

Otherwise this thread could turn into "who says Kyrie has the best handle", or "how dare you put Luka in there instead of Garland".

Rich coming from someone taking an irrational position on the subject. Because apparently, Kyrie's handles are all flash and he doesn't use them to get to his favored spots with ease and average 25+ efficiently...

As much as I dislike Harden's foul baiting, his handles imo are the most effective I've ever seen. Hi size mixed with his ability to shoot makes his handles even more effective. He can just get anywhere he wants. Not the flashiest, but man, he's nuts.

Yea I should’ve been more specific. May have to create a new thread. I basically meant who’s the 2nd best at creating space with their handles.

Some potential names that haven't been mentioned are Jamal Crawford, Rod Strickland, Pete Maravich, Tim Hardaway, and honestly...Darius Garland maybe. Evaluating handle once you get to a certain upper tier is so difficult to me.

IQ and handles are two different things, and primary role (distributor vs scorer) also plays a huge factor in what the player chooses to do with the ball, so comparing kyrie and cp3's handles in terms of TO or where they like to get on the court or whatever is kinda pointless IMO. i think if kyrie had cp3's tendencies he could get to exact same places cp3 could (wont make the same pass tho). i don't think cp3 can drive the way kyrie can.

steph and cp3 is tougher to call.
