We want no part of Caleb Martin trying to D up Durant or Giannis in the playoffs. They will exploit the small ball matchup relentlessly. Brings shades of getting torched with Iguodala and Ariza.

Lowry and Morris just getting their rest before they’re packaged with Herro for LeBron or Harden

What for? We already have one of the best PF in the league and pretty good backups.
Right now the primary backup is a smallish SF and the other backup has missed 3 months due to what can now be called a very serious injury. Our small front court will get torched in the playoffs unless we are playing our 36 year old Tucker 40 plus minutes a game.
The way I see it, the Heat plays without a center. We play with one PF (Bam), two SF's (Butler and PJ) and two guards. If anything, we need a center maybe but I think Spo hates centers.

The only things that'll stop this team from reaching the finals this season are injuries and / or the refs.
If they're fully healthy, they are capable of defeating anyone in the east in a 7 gamer. Question is, will the refs allow them to play physical defense against the Nets and Bucks? It seems like the league really made an emphasis on rewarding sound physical defense earlier on in the season but have shifted away from that as we progressed. Shame. James Harden and his flops will get to the line 12 times a game and wreak havoc.

1st place and still not 100% healthy. I love this team. I don't know if I will change anything.

This has never worked for Harden in the playoffs.
He keeps failing over and over.

With the way Caleb has been put.on guards recently, I suspect his likely job would be on kyrie and Middleton.
I really like what tucker can give the team, but yeah man, we can't expect 40 mins a game in the playoffs no less.
Wood would give someone who is at least game to meet people at the rum.
If Duncan has returned to being to valuable to trade, they darn well should get Yurt some burn and prep him so they have a more seasoned 7 footer that can go for more then 8 moms a game

I think we have a big flaw in our offense: no inside game. We depend too much on our 3 point snipers. In the playoffs, if Duncan and Strus are neutralized, we are going struggle to score. I don't have any stats but I am pretty sure that in most of our loses, we didn't shoot the 3 well. Jimmy is basically our only players that can score in the post with some regularity.

Houston want draft picks they are not looking to swap role players.

If we can get a stretch Big that can shoot 3s you can technically move Tucker to the 3 . Butler to the 2 and Lowry to the 1. Our bench will be the deepest and starting 5 will be hard to score on you can have Bam guarding the top without getting killed on the switches with another big down low.
Bam Collins Tucker Butler Lowry is way better than any starting rotation with Robinson. Then if we need some extra 3 point shooting we can always insert from the bench with struss gabe and herro

Isn't Dedmon that big that can shoot from 3?

PJ Washington would be my guy, but I'm not sure we'd have the currency to get a deal done. He'd be perfect as our backup 4 now, with a view of eventually being the Tucker replacement.
E.g. Does Kieff, KZ and a FRP get it done? Probably not.
Lowry / Vincent
Robinson / Herro
Butler / Strus / Martin
Tucker / Washington
Adebayo / Dedmon / Yurtseven
Looks pretty tasty though.

Christian Wood’s age and contract make him an attractive piece. PJ has been great, but adding a talented, agile, and athletic 6’10 dude to your front court aside Bam would be big. And although the defensive IQ is a little Whiteside ish, I believe this coaching staff could get more out of him. That’s a bold move that can really solidify your finals run. Probably nothing but exploratory stuff happened with that though.

I'd gladly move any pick currency we have to land Wood. I think that would be agreeable for Houston as well. I'd rather not lose any rotation level players for him, including Yurt. However, that kind of compounds our roster problem with yet another rotation worthy player and limited minutes being available. It also probably wouldn't be ideal for Wood and his desire for a bigger role.

Definitely need to acquire a legit center before the trade deadline passes. That's the one thing holding the Heat back from the next level right now IMO. I'm big on Yurt, but I also think he's a year or two away from being ready. Dedmon's solid but he's not gonna cut it as a starter
Bam at center puts a cap on this team and he'll be exposed again in the playoffs if no moves are made

For Wood, I'm going ahead and trading Dunc and Yurt, gotta give to get. I'd love Grant, but I think Detroits will hold out if they dont have a pick coming their way with a nice young player.

Haha you all wouldn’t trade Herro straight up for Giannis at this point.

I agree. Bam would be forced to play PF, especially if they run into Bucks/Cavs in the playoffs. Spoelstra is just deceiving himself if it thinks fielding a small ball team against legit well constructed team with a big frontcourt will work.
