What moves does LeBron need to make for the Lakers to be competitive this year?

Note: By competitive, I don't mean simply making the playoffs, but living up to offseason expectations, where they were a favorite to come out of the West.

Who does LeBron need to trade to make the roster a threat to the West?

Trade Westbrook for some spare parts. It worked when he retooled the Cavs in 2018. Westbrick is holding everyone back.

If AD plays like 2020 playoffs AD hypothetically, we can be really competitive even with all other flaws on the team.

That is the one thing the Lakers looked at every Cavs team that ever and said 'ehhhh no we'll pass. How do we build our teams complete opposite of what the Cavs did"

They need veteran knockdown shooters that know how to play and where to be. They need more Kyle Korvers and JR Smiths who can swing a game by 12 points in 3 mins. The closest thing they have is a washed Melo. Hell even go get guys like Richard Jefferson and Jeff Green. Go...get...shooters.

AD is the key piece. Russ can change to some degree and should once the postseason starts. I believe the Lakers are just cruising at the moment. While Russ is making many mistakes, so are many of his teammates, but most don't see as many touches in the postseason. AD must stay healthy.
