Love it. I don't know how they do things down in Australia but if you can't take the heat, get outta the league.

One guy that I hate with passion is Otto Porter Jr. Such a freaking fraud. He was with the Bulls for multiple years and how many games he has played???? He would play a few and then some random injury and out for months without surgery or anything.

Now he plays for Warriors and he is all of a sudden rarely misses any games.

Such a Fraud. I hate those kind of players who are just after money.

Loved that by Shaq. I think he's mostly jumped the shark with his TV persona full of bombast and hot takes, but he still speaks the truth bluntly and with candor sometimes. If we traded for Simmons that probably makes the Bulls better, but boy would I need that man to come out confident but humbled, because right now he sounds like a recalcitrant prick who is an insult to those of us who have friends or family with truly life-affecting mental health issuss.

Otto Porter is just a case of how human nature.

He plays with Chicago on a guaranteed max contract. Partied during the offseason, didn't work very hard and got banged up physically easily and was quick to take time off on the injured list.

Contract ends, he finds out nobody wants him. He has to play for league minimum. Now on a min. contract he's busting his ass like a 21 year old rookie again and keeping in shape and working out and probably working as hard as he did as a rook in Washington.

Having your annual salary go from $25M per year to $3M will motivate like nothing else.

And TBH, the same thing happened with Bobby Portis and Cameron Payne. Once they washed out from the Bulls and couldn't get anything but min contracts, their work ethic skyrocketed and they worked themselves into being great roleplayers.

Agreed. With Payne though I think he was just not mature enough and was still not at full health. Bobby simply wasn't mature enough. OPJ just had no desire to be the best player on a really bad team and just gladly took his money and kicked his feet up. Notice all those guys look better in winning situations. If they happened upon the Bulls in todays culture they likely would have been better but bad culture breeds poor output from some players. Which I understand to an extent. Thats why this team and FO needed to be gutted.

lol at shaq comparing criticism from two old men on tv who barely watch basketball anymore to someone's coach and teammate saying "yeah i dunno, this one guy is basically what lost us a playoff series" immediately after it happened. insane level of self-importance

The Bulls off-season is one reason why I don't think teams should rely so heavily on the draft lottery. Sure, be in it one or two years, but try to form a winning culture asap. Even if you don't have a lottery pick you can still find good players late in the draft. Ayo and Herb Jones are two examples of that in the past draft.

Or if you're a magician like the Heat you can find players seemingly out of nowhere (Duncan Robinson, Nunn, Yurtseven, etc.). The Lakers did that too with Caruso.

Wiggins is an all star starter? Damn, another time GarPax got fleeced. That was our target, not Zach. Could have had an all nba talent like Wiggins.

If Wiggins is the 2nd best wing in the West, that conference is ****. Although he has come a LONG way from his Wolves days, as he is now a legit good player. Defending well and at long last is scoring efficiently.

More of a statement on how few good SF's there are in the West.

Wiggins is an all star starter because he got a TON of KPOP fan votes after their singer (who happens to be the GSW ambassador) endorsed him. He'd barely make the selection otherwise.

I get that this is mostly an exhibition game for the fans, but the fan votes 50% weight needs to be nerfed.

one it is an exhibition game and they addressed this in 2017 with the ZaZa rule which was much more egregious than Wiggins is. Yeah a guy like this can slip in but still its not the biggest issue in the world for what is a pickup game and is fun for the "Fans" You take away all their voting power might as well take away the game really, no real fans avidly watch this game IMHO it is just fluff.

Fans voted him in, had nothing to do with actual merit. Although I'm glad he's finally somewhat living up to his potential.

It appears the Sixers are banking on Harden seeking a sign and trade deal with them this summer. They are going to need decent assets to send to BKN to make that work. Simmons is one option, but if they can get an even better bundle of assets from someone, even better. But I get the feeling that they are playing the long game and are not interested in selling low on Simmons in order to maximize the current season.

I didn't see what happened, but that sounds like a classy gesture by Embiid if he was in the wrong there.
