OMG those plays were worst than I thought.
He does it constantly. Always leaves his man on D to grab an easy board or just stand around as they score open looks and cuts to the basket. It happens a LOT. Then he points at someone else and slowly jogs down the other end. Just like when he argues with the refs for not getting a call as the play continues on the other end of the court and he is slowly jogging back.
He is a lazy...low IQ player. He has given zero effort and accepts zero blame for his poor play. Dude still can't recognize a double team after three seasons here. Spin moves into turnovers and jump passes to no one in particular leading to turnovers. This is constantly happening. Every game this year and the year prior to last.
Leads one to believe he got his money and does not care anymore. Get him out of here ASAP. I DON'T CARE IF WE USE ASSETS OR TAKE BACK TRASH. GTFOH!

It's not necessarily that he's playing bad, but fans are turning on him for the lack of effort, bad body language. mfers still cheer for Frank and he was trash.

I notice that there is always a small pocket of fans in here that defend the crappy players like Elf/Boolius etc. They usually come at the fans about it and they are always wrong. Usually the same few posters do this.
Julius sucked most of his time here. The FO fugged up. Period. Elfrid was trash his entire time here. He was brought back. The FO fugged up.
Fans want to win. They want to see quality basketball. They want to see effort at all times. Go figure. They aren't satisfied. They complain. Who knew?
Build through the draft and live with the results first and foremost. Once you have a YOUNG CORE with a star...then you worry about FA/trades to add to that. Until that happens this team will go nowhere. We were in PERFECT position to do so and we threw it all away with one year vet scrubs twice. Then we locked in to two MOAR years of those same scrubs and gave them priority over the youth to chase meaningless wins.
The Randle extension is as bad as the Bargs trade Billups amnesty Melo NTC etc. It never ends.

A lot of the hate is definitely personal here. You have people celebrating he got COVID, people taking shots at his family, and then insults like “bum ass bitch”. I can understand why people may not be a fan of him basketball wise but the hate is deeper than basketball for some people. You hate to see it.

It's not necessarily that he's playing bad, but fans are turning on him for the lack of effort, bad body language. mfers still cheer for Frank and he was trash.
Is it lack of effort or is it just frustration / being burnt out? I still see plenty of plays from Julius which are pure effort plays, but I do also see the body language people are talking about & there are certainly plays where Julius just looks flat...regardless of whether that's because he's pacing himself, he's being lazy, or he just doesn't have any more to give in those moments; be that due to his covid or Thibs' overuse of him.
I'm not sure the answer is that he's not trying hard enough, rather than that he's just having a down year and the team around him isn't clicking; which is exacerbating his struggles. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if next season he bounced back to closer to his form from last season...shooting above league average from 3 while consistently being a plus defender on the court...especially if we traded him to a team where he wasn't asked to do as much as we ask of him, and so he had more energy when he stepped onto the court.
I'm not against trading Julius in general, but I don't think dumping him just to dump him helps us and I dunno that he has the kind of value right now to bring something genuinely interesting back...unless we're talking about a struggling-star-swap for someone like Fox. So I'd be hesitent about selling low on a guy who is still helping RJ's development by being the focus of the defense's attention...and whose value could be much stronger if he finishes the season strong, or comes back next year shooting 38% (or better) from 3.
If Obi starts coming on strong then I might be convinced by an argument in favor of clearing PT for the octogenarian...though I'm still interested in seeing more Obi-Julius looks...but so far Obi is too inconsistent. Though he's shown he can make a nice impact for 20+ minutes on some nights, there are still too many other nights when he's more hinderance than help out there.
Which is another reason why the summer or early next season feel like better timeframes for a Randle trade...assuming the FO won't try to tank to close out this season.

See that **** with "Boolius"? Exactly what I mean. Where the **** was this last year? When he made the All-Star Team? But now you gotta be extra. I'm not talking about whether we should trade him. I'm talking about how extra you're acting. He's definitely having a bad season. But you sound like a scorned woman. Relax. Knicks are probably looking around. It'll happen. His extension wasn't even that bad. It doesn't even touch 30 million a year.
This Youth Utopia isn't what you think it is because even guys like Gallo and Chandler got **** before the Melo trade. Even RJ gets ****. There's ALWAYS someone. Always.

Yeah it's probably some combination. Last year he started off hot and then his efficiency got worse each month. He's not too far from where he left off right before the playoffs, but his defense has gotten worse, his 3 point shooting has gotten worse, and he's definitely lost confidence. I also think there's something to playing in front of a crowd thing that he didn't have to deal with last year.

I mean...fans on a message board calling him names? Really? It is meaningless and shouldn't even be mentioned in most cases. I doubt people truly hate him as a person but...as a player...he is a bum ass bytch too often. More often than not around here.
3tobackMelo just upset his ex BF embarrassed him. That isn't on the fans. That's on Boolius. Stop defending the player just because you had him in BAF.

Dude. Really? Boolius...he cried after being booed and told the fans to STFU. How am I the one going in extra? Scorned woman? I wasn't ok here last year singing his praises. I was hopeful/doubtful he could keep up his level of play and I still didn't think you should build around him. I was right.
Again...this is a message board where fans talk to each other. WTF does it matter what we say? He doesn't read this site. If he did...maybe he would learn how to play better.

So...FOH with your BS insults. You're taking yourself and this place to seriously.

during a game anything goes, you can say almost anything. but like you said, nobody knows him the person. from what i can tell, he seems like a nice kid with a nice family. he's acting moody and weird now but that doesn't mean he's a piece of sh*t as a person. boolius is fine. that's not what melo is talking about. melo likes to make jokes as much as anyone. some people say stuff about his kid or other stuff that seems to be a little over the line. it gets a little weird.

It will be interesting to see if the crowds are something that he's just readjusting too this season or if he's just one of those guys who is actually affected by the noise when crowds are in the stands; at least for me. That's another factor in his struggles this year, and like you said, it's probably a combination of things causing him to struggle more this season, and that has clearly affected his confidence.
...which is something that many of us forget is such an important factor for athletes. Sure it would be great if every athlete on the team we root for had that Jordan mindset when on the court / field / ice, but most of them are just human. That's why you see guys suddenly get better just because they start to get confident & stop hesitating out there; conversely it is also why we see athletes struggles start to spiral into dreadful seasons that they can't pull out off until the season ending literally forces them to stop struggling.

I don't know him as a person. His attitude doesn't scream nice guy at all. He is a selfish person at times by his actions. A violent angry person at times. Seems a bit entitled at times.
Stop defending the player just because you had him in BAF.Notice how quick he traded his ass and turned his back on him? FOH coming at fans for calling him names on a message board.
You weird asf. Get help. You just exposing yourself more
And imagine talking about a fantasy game like it means something, and you don’t even play it. Lol.
Man...STFU. You can dish it out but can't take it at all. Take a walk with your shyt music and your weak ass takes. Fuggin hypocrite of all hypocrites talking shyt like all bish?
Exposing myself? You're the one who blows the horn for weak players and then runs away when they eventually suck. Just stop with your high and mighty attitude bruh. Tell your story walking because IDGAF what you think. I don't even like you so fuq off and ignore me. You are now foe listed. Step off punk.
You need therapy. Yikes. Imagine being this mad over a basketball forum

You the weirdo that quoted me and started talking about me. Majority of the time I actually ignore you when you quote me, if you haven’t noticed by now. You’re one of the worst posters here tbh. I’ve been waiting for you to foe me. This is a blessing. Thanks!

It’s like when lil bitches make subliminal records, if it ain’t directed directly at me, I don’t respect it
