I love how Embiid’s best season is a run-of-the-mill Giannis season, yet he gets to leap Greek Freak in the rankings.

Giannis is a better player than Biid but Biid is playing with less talent and carrying his team a bit more. I think the context matters. I'd take Biid over Giannis very slightly rn, but that's mainly because Giannis doesn't seem to be pushing the Bucks particularly hard. Bucks need to play better and I suspect they will later but it may not be enough for him to actually win an MVP.

Curry behind DeMar is a bit of a stretch. I'd also expect to see LeBron a bit higher. Gobert not even in the top 10 is rough.

I would just like to put out there that Steph has not been eliminated from the race in my mind. He's not been playing well at all lately but he still has a large impact on the Warriors and April is still over two months away and no one is running away with this contest.

If the warriors get the #1 seed and his averages get back to normal, I expect him to win it and I'll have no problem with it. Jokic is POY so far but Steph would be the fair MVP by the typical historical standard.

Yeah Bucks kinda suck at the moment. Maybe a bit of continuity and if they actually go out and get a third big and maybe they go on a run but that's what it'll take. I wanna hedge my bets with some Embiid $$$ but I'm still expecting him to get a month long injury at some point.

Updated official NBA MVP betting odds:

Embiid: +225
Curry: +240
Giannis: +275
Jokic: +400
Morant: +400
KD: +2800
Derozan: +3300
CP3/Booker: N/A unavailable odds here (>+5000)

*Update not including the prior game, so Curry and Embiid are probably deadlocked betting wise as #1.

Unless Curry averages 30 the rest of the way I don't see him winning it.

I wouldn't say I'm a biased fan, but I watch Jokic every night and I really don't know how anyone else can be considered MVP over him. Unless team record is literally the main factor. He's on pace to drag this roster to 50 wins and is arguably having the best season of any player since Wilt.

29,13,10 for Jokic tonight, every time he tries to post up there are two or three defenders running to him, it seems every night is like that for him :-?
