Re: Options to fix the PF hole
Might sound crazy and as a plug in he won't cost much at all, but maybe Jahlil Okafor. Worth a quick 10 day and to try a new spot. Won't cost a player or pick and won't cost much.

I doubt Hachimura is available, but he's not what we need even if he is.
Harrell is expiring, the Wizards are going nowhere, and they're logjammed at his positions. So I think we would only need to be the winning bid, and dont have to match value for value. It's hard to see teams giving up a legit first for half a season of this guy, though stupid GMs have done it before (Redick to Milwaukee being an example). An expiring and 1 or 2 seconds may get the job done.

The math doesn't work without either including Coby or Pat or a 3rd team, because we can't trade DJJ back.
That said. We could trade Coby, TBJ, Bradley, Marko and Thomas for Covington and Little. If POR is trading McCollum or Dame, Coby might be enticing for them. Ideally, I'd like to trade their 1st back because it has more value to them as a trade piece (because they can remove the protections and are limited on trading 1sts because of its protections) than anyone else, but they don't have pieces that I'd want that work $-wise (except maybe a future 1st with different protections).

I suppose it’s to be expected that people who wanted Lauri would try to throw some shade about now, which is fine. But he’s having arguably the worst season of his career and does not provide what we need anyway.
I’m not sure there’s a former Bull (who I liked) that I’ve thought less about since he left. And I’m so hardcore for upgrading the 4 that it drives virtually 100% of what I’ve posted about since Pat got hurt.
And as a side note because of what’s on TV, I have a huge crush on Sam Ponder.

Had to google. I mean, I've heard about married men with such tastes, so OK. But ah ... now I see what you mean.

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
As for Meyers Leonard, he's one of list of guys who would fit but for a variety of answers the questions come up, why in the heck is he available at all? If the Bulls entertain the idea of signing him the first step would be contacting several of the prominent Jewish organizations in the city, of which there are plenty, and setting up a meeting with Leonard. If he can address what he has ;earned not being on an NBA roster, and they can endorse his development, maybe you sign him.
Right now, as in getting through the next 6-8 weeks. I still refuse to give up PW, we sure can't afford to give up Coby for somebody off the scrap heap or that some other team wants to clear out. So just forget all the $12-20M guys who screw up next year's budget. My choices are Milsap hopefully just getting released, Tristen Thompson who if SAC makes a big deal they would love to clear him out, the same or maybe a 2nd round pick, I still would ask about guys buried on the bench or to be moved to save money. Dean Wade in CLE, PJ Washington, Jaymichael Green, or what will probably be a growing list of players released at the deadline. I reinforce my short term, low cost guy to finish this year with next year in mind. The need for a backup PF or two behind Patrick will be there and the date will arrive when they could bring back either Thad Young or Daniel Theis. Low cost stable veterans.
What concerns me more and more is that McKinnie sits and Thomas didn't get in the game in the second half. Billy saw they needed defense and he obviously didn't think they were gong to bring it. So in addition to the need at PF I would be watching for a SF who could provide that even at the expense of good offense. I wouldn't be afraid of TBJ taking the minutes at guard by cutting Thomas and adding a slightly bigger SF.

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
Should’ve signed Biyombo or Cousins when they were still available over McKinnie or Hill. Those guys would’ve actually played. Any other unsigned vets that can still play?

Kelly Olynyk should be an option.
DJJ / Troy Brown Jr / Tony Bradley / CHI 1st rd 2022 for Killian Hayes and Kelly Olynyk

We can't trade our 2022 pick. We can trade the POR 1st (that won't likely convey in 22).

Biyombo was a big miss and would be perfect for us in a backup role. In saying that, every other team passed over him too.
They have Ayton, Biyombo, McGee & Smith as competent centre options on that roster. I wonder if they move McGee as they can really only play 2 at the time.

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
Otto Porter Jr looking real nice as a starter at the 4 for the Warriors on a minimum. Wish we could have kept him. EXACTLY the player we need right now

You wish we would of kept the Otto Porter Jr we had? He'd just be another addition to our injury list.

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
I agree, Biyombo, Cousins, Hartenstein all could be decent backups for us.. Caruso, Ball, DeMar, Zach could keep Couz in the check..
For PF options there are plenty of cheaper options that could work fine for us, I've mentioned them before :
Millsap, Nance Jr., Kleber, James Johnson, PJ Washington etc
If we want big ass trades, sure we can go after :
Grant, Wood, Covington, Barnes, Collins etc etc
But also as I've mentioned before I would prefer at least 6'8 or 6'9 guy for PF, we have plenty of 6'6-6'7 players already.. Every inch counts vs Durant and Giannis..

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
Maybe Barnes isn't the answer:
Harrison Barnes shot just 5-of-16 from the field in a loss to the 76ers on Saturday, finalizing his evening with 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two triples, no defensive stats and one turnover in 29 minutes.
This was a solid effort from Barnes after a 29-point gem in a loss to the Hawks on Wednesday, and he even had a chance to win the game with a triple from the left wing that went flying to the opposite side of the backboard. Barnes is prone to duds here and there, but he’s scored in double figures in nine of his last 10 games and remains a fine late-round option for some points, rebounds and triples.

Well I think it’s positive that he’s capable of giving you efficient 28+ppg nights even if it’s every 3-4 games, because none of our other options right now can do that. He may not be consistent, because if he was, the asking price would be hell a lot higher than what we can realistically afford.

Re: Options to fix the PF hole
I was clamoring for Hartenstein in the preseason. He was totally available to us. he had the size and a fair amount of playing experience for a 2nd round pick.
It seems like the Wizards have too many bigs. Wonder if Deni Advija can play some pf for us, even though he is listed as a shooting guard on the Wizards. He is 6 9, which seems huge for a shooting guard. Is he way too weak physically to play at pf? He has the height. I think his playing time has gone down recently. What would it take to get Rui or Deni? Could they help us? What would we have to give up?
