Not expecting much at all tonight, but they showed a little fight in the first five minutes of the second quarter by cutting the deficit to two points, and then proceed to get outscored 24-10 in the final seven minutes.

Maybe have the bench start the third before this really gets embarrassing. The starters combined for 15 points on 5/21 from the field compared to the bench with 34 points on 12/24 from the field lol.

Somehow we're in this at the midway point of the 4th while shooting 39%

Lakers are so close to making this a game. If only they had a little bit of offense

Ish Smith has been beating Reaves all game. Bad matchup on defense.

I thought for sure Coach Vogel would set up a screen or double screen to get Russ to the hoop. Very high percentage shot, with a chance for a foul. Nope. Another isolation three.

Effort was there. As usual, not enough to finish the comeback. **** terrible play to end the game :nonono:. Can't allow Ish Smith to go off with a season-high 22 points on 10-12 FGs off the bench. Oh well...

One of the better guys going to the hoop in the league and we shoot a freaking 3.... just no brains anywhere it seems.

Kind of wish I watched the game until the end

See all we don't need no Bron/AD trade them

Edit: When we have them, it's either ISO plays OR pic n roll plays

Lakers don't need that as team..

I bet you all next time Bron/AD play

We/Lakers lose game

Iso plays, no hustle and pic n rolls

Don't lead the team with W's

How do we let Ish Smith of all people torch us? He sucks.

As I said earlier, he is fast. Who on the Lakers is fast besides Westbrook and Monk? And one of those two was unavailable. Smith torched Austin Reaves repeatedly--the wrong matchup for Frank Vogel.

He wasn’t even breaking the defense off the dribble, just getting separation for long jumpers. It’s a total break down of defensive communication and I guess I’m answering my own question here with a scrambled orientation and line ups with dudes who largely never played together.

Just going to repeat it... Fanning a team that never has it's best players "healthy" at the same time all season, is beyond frustrating...

We need to shorten the regular season to like 45 games... So every game was important. And then space them out a little so the anticipation could grow a bit more.

That's a little extreme, but I could see a season of 70-72 games. There are a lot of advantages, both for the fans and the players. Ticket prices would go up, though.

Yet somehow for decades they played the same number of games, at the same or higher pace, with fewer injuries in 4 week shorter total time and teams were consistent.

I think this rests in the 1 and done, pick, roll and chuck era of the NBA. Fundamentals and knowing how to actually fit in a team seems lost on a lot of players these day.

Now I'll go back to my rocking chair on the porch.... there someone on my lawn...
