Defense has disappeared. Is it all Turner?

Certainly doesn’t help. 2nd night of a back to back. In this kind of season we probably get the effort necessary for NBA level defense maybe one out of three or four games? Doubt if planting the idea that essentially everyone is on the trading block helps effort much. I wish they would just execute the Levert and Turner trades. Get some trade capital for Craig and Holiday, shut down Brogdan and Sabonis. Watch the young guys and improve the odds of a high draft pick.

You can add that Goga didn't play and Jackson only got 18 minutes despite having three blocks and shooting pretty well. I'm not sure why in either case. Did Goga get injured again?

Also, I think when those guys are out, it exposes more about how bad some of the other guys really are on defense. Then you have what 8305 said about the trade talk having an effect on some of them. That doesn't help either.

Goga got his foot stomped on against OKC and was unavailable for this game.

I don’t know many, if any, teams that would just shut down a healthy player like Sabonis. If you do so, you should just trade him now, because you’ll have burnt a bridge with him and he’ll be demanding out.

I’m all for playing the young guys. 100%. But it’s not going to happen by shutting down healthy, good players. Brogdon, sure. That Achilles will need rest. But Sabonis with his…..no injuries? Not likely to happen.

That hasn’t terribly been the case this year for Indy. Take a look at who was on the court for Indy at closing time last night. Essentially all rookies and young guys.

Many of our "older" (veteran is likely a better word) players are injured. Sure Sabonis played, but Brogdon, Turner and TJM are injured. I guess you would have to count Lamb and Lance as veterans.

Last night, specifically, he could’ve had Sabonis, Holiday, and Craig in if he insists on playing vets over rookies. It was a blowout, but he made a choice to keep playing the young guys the whole 4th.

Forgot about Holiday (though I've been trying). Was not really sure of Craig's age, or years in the league. Surprised to find out he is 31.
