The new Rooney rule says you have to interview two minority candidates for GM and any coordinator position.

I didn't know that meant even if you're hiring from within but I get it.
It's a good way to self scout and get opinions on your offense from an outside perspective.

I know your staff usually gets somewhat broken up when a coordinator leaves, but Hackett needs to chill and find his own guys lmao. Trying to take half the staff with him. Guessing that's why we haven't heard anything on Mo Drayton yet, cause MLF has to put out the other fires first. On top of that the Bears are trying to further the poaching process with Getsy.

Making Steno the OC the obvious choice now.

Ok, so in your opinion what would we get for Rodgers and Adams?

I would be surprised if we got more than two firsts for Rodgers. He might retire the next year, and the Broncos aren't one piece away. Stafford is younger, and the Rams were far closer to contention when that trade was made, and they're a lot more "all in" than the Broncos.

I don't think we get much for Adams. Suitors lining up for the privilege to pay a WR $30M annually won't be plentiful.

But Stafford and Rodgers aren't the same guy. Stafford had a history of not winning football games. Rodgers has a history of winning football games . . . until they get in the playoffs.

I was astonished when the Rams decided Stafford was the guy to put them over the top.

A case could've been made last year that Stafford was a franchise guy toiling away in a dysfunctional organization. He was 32, would have a great team around him, could be around for years, and the Rams were only weak at QB. So that could be worth two firsts, a second, and a Goff salary dump for a team missing only a QB.

As for Rodgers, he turns 39. He could decline any minute or retire soon. He's been a diva lately and has some playoff embarrassments. Denver is still some players away. Would they gut their team to the tune of 3 first rounders plus players to get a Rodgers rental and still not be a top contender? I highly doubt it.

Bears fan here i come in peace! Serious question though : is this Getsy guy even any good? Because if he was, then why didn't the Packers just promote him to their OC position?

I can see why he may find our job appealing. If Fields develops into his potential, Getsy will get most the credit and be a hot commodity for a Head coaching job ala Duball with Josh Allen. So may be he sees the Bears as a better stepping stone to keep moving up, but I would still think he just stays In Green Bay of he was offered the same position.

I saw a meme that said:
San Francisco passed by Aaron Rodgers in the draft, and he still gave them 4 playoff wins.

He can call the plays there. MLF calls the plays in GB. That's the reason for the move, he wants to call the plays.

Now that the dust has settled on the offensive side it's time for a new ST coach.

Getting nervous Drayton will be back. Lafleur seems like a loyal guy. The players on ST were garbage but Drayton is over his head as well. It can be both hopefully they decide to spend the money and upgrade.

Exactly. Upgrade the ST talent AND the coach.

Reports are Packers are optimistic that both Rodgers and Davante return.

Still don’t buy it. Money doesn’t make sense and they’ll be coming back to a significantly worse team.

They can move money around easily.

But they'll have to make significant moves regardless (At least that's my understanding of the situation). I don't think they can feasibly keep the roster intact. Which is why it's the perfect time to move both for considerable draft picks and start the rebuild. QBs on their rookie deals is the best time to win a title.
